Income From Adsense

Featured Replies

So, I always read about people making a full-time income from Adsense. I'm wondering HOW exactly? Does it have to do with making those annoying ads only sites and proliferating them all over the web? Does it have to do with blogging with Adsense included? Is it a combination?

How do you make money with Adsense? Right now, I just have some ads on my websites - content sites and ecommerce - and am making very little, although it is steady.

Anyone have some great tips on how to increase it?

Fantastic Tips! Thank you ;)

I liked the theory of "banner blindness", very interesting and I can certainly see how this would work.

I always worry about putting banners on websites, does it put off visitors? I question that more and more nowadays as seeing ad's on websites just seems like normal practice. Does anyone else share the same view? I'd be intesrested to know from people with popular sites, who then introduced adsense, did you receive any negative feedback, and has your website lost traffic because of it?

:)

Great tips jayadev

I agree with you that text ads is better than image ads because its gives better attention to viewer.

i must use this tips for my site.:)

That really was great advice. Thanks! I have a affiliate website with a forum and a blog. The adsense is mainly on my blog. Now, I have a question. How do you incorporate the adsense into your posts. You know how some people's posts will have words highlighted through out it? That is what I'm referring too.

Well, it is the famous "ShoeMoney.com" ..as shown in the check. I read somewhere that this guy is real, and he do earn good money from adsense. I wonder how much traffic and pageview his site is recieving each day? Anyone could give a pointer?

The other giant earner is "plentyoffish.com" which is a dating site. The owner of this site is said to be earning about 300k per month from adsense. It is really amazing.

I know of a few site owners who are earning well with AdSense, and some who earn almost nothing. I think it comes down to the purpose and content of your site to determine how effective it is (or isn't).

I am among those who are earning very little. I think you are right in that it depends a lot on the purpose of a site. That is something I haven't quite figured out for my site. It is a personal site with some Google ads and that's about it right now. I'm still debating about what I want to do with it.

Hi everyone,

I wonder what's the "breakthru point" in starting to get good revenue from adsense?? Like getting 300 unique visitors per day??

Or it is that even with low traffic (< 300 unque/day) , you are still able to generate good revenue by targeting high paying keyword?

Kind to share??

I put Adsense on my personal blog just to see what would happen. I think my Adsense total is three bucks, which is not too much. Of course, my blog is not SEO'd, and it has a very small readership. It is an experimental thing for me, really.

Making a living off Adsene alone is IMO a myth... Or if not a myth its a very, very rare occurence that someone can make good cash off that alone. For people to even be getting a monthly payout of around $1000 you'd need to be running about 50 niche websites, which you will surely need to hire someone to help run. Adsense is very over-rated, i've found that out the hard way having only recieved about 4-5 payments from them in the 10-12 months i've used it. I plan to switch to another Publisher network to see if there is a difference, but I suggest you don't get your hopes up of been able to sit back and count the pounds rolling in from Adsense alone... Not in a million years.

It's easy if you know how :)

I used to love adsense because of the high pay rate. For one of my gaming site, HipHopClique and a free hosting site I ran, I earned arround 250 each month. But now because of some idiot who built a hatred towards me (he clicked 200 times in 1 page view), they banned my account. Now I earn half that from other advertisement affiliates. Yahoo is also said to pay a lot.

Here's another good article:

You can make a "sort of" living from Adsense.

A close friend who ran his own small web design company (worked alone) here in Scotland made enough money each month purely from Adsense to pay his mortgage.

Unfortunately he is no longer with us (he died in 2006 after a lifelong battle with EB and cancer) but he showed me the evidence of what he was making at the time. He wanted me to do the same thing.

He showed me how he did it and to be honest it was pretty dull and obvious (I suppose) and also involved a lot of hard work.

Nevertheless once you are set up it can chug along quite nicely as my friend found out.

I don't honestly believe there is a fast buck to be made here....

There are allot of people making a living off Adsense but these guys are serious webmasters running multiple sites generally no less than 20 (up to 100's) which are constantly updated with content weekly and sometimes daily! Making a living from AdSense would involve allot of work and would take more of your time than a full time job just to achieve the equivalent results. The real secret of making money with Adsense is getting that all important traffic generally 1000 hits per day to make a reasonable income (though no where near life changing) then again depending on the "niche" if the site your adverts will pay massively varying amounts per click! from a few cents to up to "apparently" $70 dollars. Once again these depends on the keywords used in those sites to influence the AdSense adverts.

It is most definitely a "Scientific art" making money with AdSense, i personally have averaged about $.50 per day with my blog but its not exactly gong to make me a millionaire!

lol

I actually set up my site as a proof of concept and straight off the bat people will click on your adds. (ive made $4.18 woo!)

I can definately see it working especially for the people who have big ideas and unique propositions.

I think there is a bit of a myth going around about bloggers on wordpress earning $$$,$$$. It is not possible as you cant really have full control over how the site acts and looks. Dont know if anyone has noticed but all wordpress sites look the same.

The people who offer something new and better will be the ones who can take advantage of adsense to earn money

You couldn't be more wrong. I put 4 years hard work in and more hours than there are in a day... but I got there in the end.

Google adsense is not my only revenue coming in but I am not far off at all from it being so very very soon. To be honest I could live off it, just not comfortably yet but I calculate about another 6 to 12 months hard work should get me there.

I currently earn more each month from adsense than I used to driving articulated trucks around the country 6 days a week!

I found you need at least over 5,000 visitors a day to be able to get any decent money (more than a couple of $ a day).

Most I ever got was £16.54 from 12,000 visitors.

James.... give me your site that get's 5000 a day and I'll make you a very rich man!!

I have a directory which get's 25 - 28,000 visits a month and the adsense from this earns me enough to live on. If you can't make a site that has around 5,000 visitors a DAY work for you then you need to rework your pages and adsense blocks to ensure they do.

I haven't updated it for around 2 years, so it's only getting a steady stream of around 350-500 visits a day. Back when I was getting those numbers the site was quite poorly designed as I was just starting out, but lost the time and entusiasm to carry on with the site.

Seriously James with 300-500 coming in without you working on it... You could have yourself a revenue rich site here using adsense, I don't know what you do so obviously I cannot say if this is worth it to you but you could be getting some fairly serious money from this site with a little work.

It's also not just a case of having thousands of visitors and as many ads as you can place on the pages... the layout has to be carefully worked out. More often than not, placing fewer blocks of adsense adverts to a page can generate more revenue than placing your maximum amount.... also where you place those blocks can dramatically improve / worsen your revenue.

My website is using WordPress, and it looks nothing like other websites.

To be honest I flooded it with large ads at the top and have left it.

The site is http://www.skeletorscorpse.com which is a tutorials website, mostly Photoshop. The main traffic comes through tutorial indexing sites like Pixel2life, tutorial outpost and good-tutorials.

It is just a matter of writing a good tutorial, getting it submitted and you can get 5,000 new visitors in 1 day. Only problem is only around 10% or so come back.

Same.

A lot of people are using generic word press themes which make it look identical to every other site. If you pay enough attention to my site you can tell it is built on wordpress but not at first glance.
