  1. For a start you should check the mime type of the file aswell. So they cant just change the extension of a file to upload it.
  2. I've been with my girlfriend for 2 years now. She works in product research and development so she is probaly as geeky as me The only way it really affects my work is I want a new 24" monitor but she thinks we don't have enough room
  3. I use picture resize genius. It is $19.95 but it does everything you need. I first used it when I had to resize 26,000 images for an ecommerce website and it managed no problem. Alternativley you could use a batch in photoshop but I'm not sure it would be as automated as the progam I mentioned.
  4. You could just change the code to: <?php if (empty($row_pupdata['photothumb1'])) { echo '<img src="/NOPHOTO.jpg" width="80" height="80" />' ; } else { echo "<img src=\"".$row_pupdata['photothumb1']."\" alt=\"\" border=\"2\" align=\"top\" />"; } ?> That will check if the row is empty or not. To be really specific, you could check if the filename in the row exists using the file_exists function in PHP.
  5. Did you try my solution? Your web host probably has error reporting turned off by default. You can see your errors in the error log or ask your host to turn error reporting.
  6. That shouldn't work. You're already in PHP when you try the <?php The bit in bold is wrong: <?php if ($row_pupdata['photothumb1'] <= '') { echo '<img src="/NOPHOTO.jpg" width="80" height="80" />' ; } else { echo '<img src="<?php echo $row_pupdata['photothumb1']; ?>" alt="" border="2" align="top" />' ; } ?> You should try: <?php if ($row_pupdata['photothumb1'] <= '') { echo '<img src="/NOPHOTO.jpg" width="80" height="80" />' ; } else { echo "<img src=\"".$row_pupdata['photothumb1']."\" alt=\"\" border=\"2\" align=\"top\" />"; } ?>
  7. Can anybody recommend some software to use to track client information such as contact details and passwords? I already use Freshbooks for billing but it doesn't have anywhere to store passwords.

@Sibbo: I haven't used TinyMCE for a while, is it much work to add your own styles to the editor?
  9. It loads fine for me aswell.

TinyMCE is good but like pippin62 said, it does give users a lot of control of the content and can result in some pretty ugly text on the page. jwysiwyg is a good, less powerful alternative.

I have a MacBook (the aluminium one) with the dual core processor and 4gb RAM. It's easily the best computer I've ever had, I love it . I'm getting a new dual xeon windows computer at work this week so I'll let you know how that compares when I get it.
  12. I need to validate a date (i.e. 18/08/2009) on a form using javascript. I've tried using the jQuery validation plugin only to find that when you're using IE7 or 8 typing "18/08/2009s" (notice the "s" on the end) will still be classed as a valid date when obviously it isn't. I'm pretty sure that there must be a way of checking a string is in the correct format rather than just checking if it's a date. Does anybody know how I would do this?
  13. It doesn't use a database as it uses flat files. Basically all of the information is stored in a txt file (or some other sort of file). There's a tutorial on how to make something similar here. Again this one doesn't use a database.
  14. What about this?
  15. Thematic is a theme framework for WordPress. As far as I know it's used as like a starting point for a theme as it includes all the necessary files etc for creating a theme.
  16. What about this one? Edit: There's also loads of premium ones.
  17. I'm not 100% but this might be of some help to you.
  18. I like #2 aswell But I do think the content boxes at the bottom need changing a bit. Maybe play with the colour and spacing a bit.
  19. Where do you buy the products you sell from? 90% of the time your suppliers will be able to give you a CD with images of the products they sell on. I have came across a few suppliers that will charge for these CDs though.
  20. Frog CMS is very simple to skin.
  21. What about Milky Icons?
  22. I'm a bit stuck with a WordPress site I'm working on. What I need to do is display all of the subcategories & posts in a certain category in the sidebar of a WordPress theme. Basically the format I want it in is: SubCat1 - Post 1 from subcat 1 - Post 2 from subcat 1 SubCat2 - Post 1 from subcat 2 - Post 2 from subcat 2 - Post 3 from subcat 2 SubCat3 - Post 1 from subcat 3 - Post 2 from subcat 3 Is it even possible to do this?
  23. It's always easier to agree a price/rate before you start work. The price will normally depend on lots of different factors such as: The quality of your work Your experience The length of time you have to do the project Who the project is for It's hard for anybody to tell you how much to charge. For a project like that I would charge anywhere from £400 to £1000.
  24.
