  1. Hey Guys, I'm having a problem with this jQuery RSS News reader. The code works perfectly fine in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox but fails to load when in Internet Explorer. According to IE the error is on line 192. Here is a link to the webpage the error is happening on: http://www.pixelisedesigns.co.uk/ghg/ and a link to the js file http://www.pixelisedesign.co.uk/ghg/js/jquery.newsWidget.js any help is much appricated
  2. How do i go about creating a digital watermark that tracks what people do with the images? Thanks for the helpful posts by the way guys
  3. thats good!, i didnt think of that but i use the lightbox effect for my photogallery
  4. Hey, whats the best possible method to stop users from downloading images?. I know it is completely impossible to stop people from downloading images (thanks to the print screen key), but what is the best deterrent? I know you can prevent the right click function (thanks to javascript) but i've seen another method that replaces the image you try and save with anther file (mostly 'image.php') anyone got any ideas on how to do this? Thanks for looking
  5. Hi there, I'm looking for a mass/bulk image resizer that allows me to specify the output file type, auto rename the images, watermark the images and if possible create a thumbnail for the images. I've already found a pretty good one program, but its pretty pricey for a basic program. Anyways, i'm just curious if anyone knows another program that can do all that is listed above?, i'm willing to pay for the program if it worth my while, thanks .
  6. touch on it?, so it only mentions it briefly, or does it show you how to use them etc
  7. I've ordered the book, i mentioned before. Was just wondering if anyone knows if it contains anything about Divs?, was reading the description on play.com but didn't mention it (everything but infact)
  8. Hey i was checking on play.com for this book, and i noticed that a newer version of this book has been released in 2006. It can be found here. Anyways, i was just wondering if this book explains how to use Divs etc. am fed up of using tables in my websites and want something that is more flexable to work with, and heard divs are the way to go.
  9. I like the look of the layout, its simple yet elegant. Although, the purple banner is eye catching, it distracts me a bit. Maybe the colour could be toned down?. Also the navigation is a bit plain, don't like the all capitials either. I suppose your already pondering this thou, since its still in the early stages. Overall i like it
  10. i don't agree with that statement. I haven't seen a cube based logo that looks like ours yet. The text maybe is similar to others, but features different colours, font and glossy effect. I've obviously seen the reflection effect before, but i suppose thats part of the influence as to why, i created this text in the first place.
  11. Hmm... am going to be really honest here. 1. Your background is far to bright, it actually distracts me from reading the page content. That needs to be toned down. 2. Your logo is a standard photoshop brush....Need i say anymore? 3. The website is hosted a Freewebs, and your domain name is free. Tell me, why would anyone purchase your services, when you won't even purchase a web host or domain name. Personally, i think you need to expand your knowledge in all aspects of web design, (html, css, photoshop, web standards etc) before offering your services to people. Being honest, i don't think you'll have a paying client anytime soon.
  12. This image shows the reflection underneath the G This one shows no reflection. Personally, i think the reflection underneath the G doesn't look right. It looks much better the way it is.
  13. Yeah it was a hard decision when it came to the g. I've already tried both ways you have mentioned, and i believe it looks better the way it currently is. Although you are right, the g would actually be hitting the surface, it looks rather odd that the reflection occurs after the g. Doesn't look right in my opinion. Sorry about the Demo demo, just really protective of our work, am sure you'll understand. But yeah, i know what ya saying, so i think we'll upload a version that doesn't include demo demo. Actually it took longer, we experimented with colours, reflections, shadows, fonts, glossy etc. Time isn't really a factor anyways, we have thought about this logo before we even began creating it in photoshop.
  14. ah yeah i see what you mean, hmmm might have a play around with that. Err we decided upon the cube because when we think of pixel, we think of squares. But we decided to add a twist to the pixel by making it 3D and shading one part blue, to match the design part of the font. We did originally pixelate the globe, but after recieving alot of negative feedback, we decided to re-think our design. I'm still not to sure on what approach to take with the logo now. I'm contenplating a new look again
  15. I think your right. There is something about the design i don't like but i can't put my finger on it. I'll see what i can do with the reflections. Thanks Constructive critisism is welcome!, thats why we posted our logo on here in the first place. I think your also right, will have a play around with the text and see what happens . Thanks Myself and my partner are happy with the font style and spacing, but we may remove the grid effect. hmm does anyone else have an idea as to what i could use instead of a cube?, or suggest an effect/style to apply to the cube to make it more alluring and appealing. The reason we choose the cube in the first place is because it represents a pixel, with a twist. Thanks for the suggestions!
