Hey Paul I used to put my code at the bottom of my web page and found I also got inaccurate results, I then moved it into the head of my webpae and found more pageviews/hits etc being recorded. So I would suggest putting it into the head. Sometimes for whatever reason I guess the page doesn't load fully or people don't stick around to wait for it to. So having the Analytics code load up first then it's going to record the visit. DK

Hi Everyone, I was wondering what are the 5 programs/things everyone can't design/build website without? Mine are: Photoshop Illustrator Coffee Dreamweaver Istock! (Oh and Web Designer Forum, but that's 6!) It would be interesting to see what you all use, perhaps you could let others into some new stuff! There are some fair points above, perhaps a little harsh, I think you need some kind of containment as the content is floating in the middle with no border or colour separation, perhaps some buttons aswell which highlight your key selling points would be beneficial. DK

What do you think are the worlds most popular websites? I would say Google and Youtube are up there, what in your opinion are the top players out there? DK

Hi, I have had a niggle for a little while which I have forgotten about until tonight and that is I draw a straight line in Fireworks 8 - but everytime I resize it - it blurs and makes it 2 pixles high and a smudgey look...this is really annoying as I don't always draw the line the correct width and i'm pulling my hair out how to make it re-size perfectly... Any advice would be great. Thanks.

I really like this website the interface is very easy to follow and there's nothing there that shouldn't be which is important to the success of a website as it doesn't confuse the user. Hi, I'v been building around 3 - 4 mock-up designs for clients when building a website, is this too many? I'd be VERY interested to know how many designs you show the client as i'm sure I can get away with less.

I agree with Ben, I think the design is very clean and stylish. The background doesn't work as there's no contrast between that and the foreground. Try a darker background or as Ben says a border around it.

Now, this I like. It's like an affiliate scheme in a way. I'd like to see the admin side of things, how you choose your advertisers and choose what goals you want, i'm going to sign up to this. Thanks for the link Paul. DK

Hi, Checking my logs I always see Google taking up a good bit of bandwidth indexing pages of my website, but the thing is I check Google results for my domain and there's hardly any pages. How long does it take normally for pages to show in the search results? Also why does it take up so much bandwidth? DK

Sometimes I find it really hard to get motivated to build a project for the web. Sometimes I can play about with a design for hours but never really get anywhere. Is it best to work with content first or is doing the design and fitting in content afterwoulds the best way to go? How does everyone else work? Do you have any tips for me as any suggestions advice would be great. DK

I'm interested to know how members of the community are attracting links to their website, getting inbound links is such an important thing I looking at ways to improve mine, so looking for advice. I can think of: 1. Submitting to directories 2. Forum Signatures 3. Automated submission tools. Has anyone else got any idea's & suggestions from your own personal experience that can help.
