Music while working

Featured Replies

@BrowserBugs - Drum and Base is some of the most awesome sounds that have entered my brain. Definitely music to get you moving. But for the Ganja Kru I would have to say "Gone are the days" is my favorite of theirs.

EDIT: fixed spelling

Always got Spotify on when working. :)

At the moment got "feeling good for a living" playlist playing while checking emails

Royal Blood's album came out this week. I've been streaming it like mad on Spotify.

Here's my copy.

Hey, I remember something from my college days, I was heavily into drum and bass and such types of music with a heavy repetitive beat, listened through headphones whilst I worked.... Found I steamed through work in no time... Found out later on that the repetitive beat means you listen to the music subconsciously, allowing you to focus more on your work without actually thinking about it or getting distracted... Think about a lot of catchy pop songs, get stuck in your head and you end up singing along or wiggling about rather than working :p

Just finished trawling through my inbox; dang .... this is the tune for my week I think!

You should check out Moderat. It sounds like it would be right up your street. I caught them at a festival in France this summer. Their set was around 3 in the morning, it P****** down with rain, but I stayed for the whole thing. I listen to them all the time now at work, it's my get sh*t done music.

Could someone who knows sign language please translate the video. I'm deaf illiterate please forgive me.

EDIT: or a psychology, sociology, theology, major? Hell a Guru would do nicely because my lateral thinking can not figure it out!

I am listening to David Benoit while working.

There's plenty of indication that would recommend that yes - having music on in the background can perk up performance. Whether you're working out in the gym or zoning out and coding - music can produce a surroundings that facilitates your objective.

I am listening to David Benoit while working.

Do you mean the guy that wrote the intro to Charlie Brown cartoons or something like that?

I love jazz almost as much as blues.

This track for me is a winner, hits the Jazz on a deep note ...

skrillex could have fun with that track for sure.

BTW, I'm searching for any raw audio of that track..

EDIT: Here in America one can not mention Jazz without mentioning John Coltrane.

Coding, Conguring server, Installing new software, maintaing virtual server is my favroute work so I did not feel boring at all.

While working on PC, I don't listen music. I really enjoy my work ;)

I get UK videos all the time , so I don't understand. And my YT is set to browse UK videos for American channels are crap. They only show reality shows and who cares about that? i watch people everyday do the same old crap that those on tv do and they don't get paid for it. I'd rather see art than life when I watch tv. OKAY rant over!

I always think playing music while working is essential as it boosts your creativity by ten folds. Sadly, my current work right now don't allow us luxury except on a friday. But when I'm working (or doing something outside of my field), I allow Spotify to give me a random playlist from the usual pop, casual or even techno-trance.

That's crazy. I don't see how Friday should be any different.

I know right. I kinda got used to working with silence (or work noise to make it worse) but it feels lacking.

I used to work in an office where we had business suits Mon-Thurs but denim jeans and T-shirts on Friday. It was like Friday=slack off day at that office because no one got anything done and a lot of 'chatter' echoed through building
