  1. Probably, but Hostgator aren't expensive anyway and they are solely US hosting at the planet. Could this possibly be spam ?
  2. We can offer hosting from £20 a year, you might want one of our larger packages which are from £3.49 a month. http://www.flyhigh.net/shared.htm
  3. You can get good value UK shared hosting from £20 - £100 a year, depending on your needs.
  4. It's arbitrary points wesh has picked up on there, sure it can be interesting but the points on the SSL and WHMCS are irrelevant to their business and how they perform. On the other hand using US servers for UK hosting with such blatant overselling isn't a recipe for reliable good value hosting.
  5. Are the images being loaded from a secure source ? i.e https://

The simplest fact is that to offer 1.5tb to a customer paying a few dollars a month is a massive loss per customer. Doesn't matter what bandwidth pricing they get. Secondly hard disk drives don't come much bigger than 1 - 2 TB at the moment. Also a shared hosting box will rarely push more than 10Tb of bw even with these oversellers. So the customers could not use it even if they wanted too. Trying to use either resource in line with their TOS will get you suspended for exceeding your cpu quota, because they don't allow bandwidth heavy applications so you have to then use dynamic sites (which cause higher load).
  7. Free hosting has it's place, but if you place any value on the site being up then I'd go for a paid service even if it's just for your piece of mind.

Personal recommendations are the best, you know they are geniune (most of the time). Avoid any site that trys to tell you which host is best, as it's relative like anything. It's which host is best for you and if your happy with them then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.
  9. Just to add that they also have a nice auto renew feature where by they charge your card for another 1/2/3 years automatically because "its in their tos". There are plenty of reviews for them as well. Setting clear defined limits will not only make it more realistic and give the customers a usable about of resources but also offer an upgrade path. Not all customers are the same and so they don't all require the same packages. Best of luck with your hunt.
  10. I think you mean low server to admin ratio, but we get the idea .
  11. Unfortunately it's not 10mbps per account it's 10mbps unmetered for the whole server. Some dedicated providers offer 10mbps unmetered. I really don't want to bash other companies, but do you really want to be with a host that has google ads on their site ?
  12. Well you can't really compare them. Normally in the shared market xGB of space and xxGB of bandwidth are used. With dedicated servers most sell Allotments of transfer (bandwidth) xxx GB But if you colocate or with some dedicated providers you get billed on 95th percentile per mbit Also you can have port speeds like 10mbps,100mbps and so on. That's just the speed it's capable of reaching. If you can provide an example I'm sure we can clarify what they are offering.

1&1 with fasthosts and streamline are the ones I see the most complaints about.
  14. Indeed but vps's being used to sell hosting is a big no-no in my opinion and all to common. Unless a big company reports them (heart internet) nothing will happen.
  15. Setting a strict limit on what any account can use is excessive. Again its 5% of one cpu not the whole thing, so not allowing a site to use what in reality would be far less than 1% of the server cpu is insane. They set strict limits and many of which are just internal policy as reaper found out. They sell unlimited, but actually do put limits which they only tell you if you ask and even then they could decide to lower them anytime if they wanted without you knowing.
  16. Well to give an idea of cost our cheapest package is £20 a year (plus vat). If it's a non profit (registered charity) then we can do a discount.
  17. Well 5% of one cpu isn't really that much to peak too, as it won't be constant. As they "should" be using at least Quad Core servers. They are limit's they can decide what they are. I'd be concerned that they offer something that they themselves have told you that you can't use.
  18. Do note they said "a cpu" referring to one core. They offer unlimited but now tell you there are limits... Your point about the portfolio is correct but space will be your concern not bandwidth at least with general hosting clients.
  19. Get a proper hosting account and domain name. It's simpler and certainly less hassle.
  20. So the issue is resolved or they are just saying that without addressing it ?
  21. I'd think aiming for the middle ground of around £5 per month may be best, as you can cover your costs relatively quickly without being too expensive. Ignoring Heart's "unlimited" for a moment, what else do they offer that you like ?
  22. Yep best to contact them direct in that case. May need to have your client do it direct as they "should" only deal with the registrant.
  23. Actually you may be using that, but there is no limit with Heart so you have no idea if they might cut you off at any point. Secondly we offer free WHMCS for free with that package which is easily the leading billing system in the industry. We also offer things like custom name servers and white label servers. With us we offer you a real package which you know you can use rather than giving you no limit and leaving you hoping for the best. Lastly if you have 100 hosting accounts and can't afford to pay the little extra to upgrade to have no limit on the number of hosting accounts, then your doing something wrong ! If you actually do hit our space/bandwidth limits on our top plan then you can always buy more of either, just ask sales for a price.
  24. Certainly your right to question the unlimited offerings, they are a marketing tactic, there is no such thing as unlimited hard drives or unlimited bandwidth/transfer. Heart Internet markets itself to a very specific crowd and they do it reasonably well, I doubt that for the £30 you would get any more in terms of server power or features than from any other decent host. We offer Private Label Resellers from £14.99 a month, these include your own nameservers (for example ns1.yourdomain.com) a brandable sitebuilder and cPanel/WHM. We also offer WHMCS billing system for free with two of our plans. Fly High Private Label Resellers from £14.99 p/m
  25. Well I'd first try looking for other contact details, perhaps on his domain name whois try www.whois.sc Also how long has it been with no response ? Lastly Name and shame him, was it a lot of money ?
