  1. Thank you both very much for the advice it was much needed!!
  2. Hi, I'm still learning web design, currently plodding through the photoshop tuts (website mock-ups) on the net. I have done a website in xhtml/css for my local social club using notepad and now a friend of mine wants a website (with e-commerce) to give his flower nursery an online prescence. I want to design him a more modern website than the social club using a mock-up in photoshop then convert to xhtml/css for the net. He understands it may take me a few months to make a design for him. I told him i wasnt sure about e-commerce and that i would find out more. I'm trying to get my head around how i could implement e-commerce/shopping cart into my website design. Say i did a mock-up in photoshop of a design for his future website and converted it into code ready for the net, how can you implement the e-commerce/shopping cart into it? Do i add the php/mysql script to my xhtml code? Do i download the script from a specialist e-commerce site i.e. zencart?? Sorry to sound a little naive but i really dont have the foggiest idea! Heres hoping for your replies Slinky

  4. There isnt any real consistency and there seems to be too many colours. I think the site would be improved a lot if there were no animations or movement on the page. It makes me dizzy just looking at it.
  5. Thanks alot nero problem solved!!

Hi, I would like to add the xhtml and css validation logos to the bottom corners of My Website. What would we the best way to do this? Place the images in the footer id and position relative?? Thanks Slinks

  12. Hi I have been learning x/html and css for 9 months now and thought it was time i started to learn other things. I have had a quick look at javascript and php on w3schools and they look very complicated. As a wannabe website designer, is it imperative to learn client and server side scripting languages such as javascript & php?? Or maybe have a limited knowledge for contact forms etc? Your thoughts are very welcome! Cheers Slinky
  13. thanks for the comments terydinho! Charlotte, is gradient a photoshop application?? If so i will probably learn about that soon. Slinky
  14. thanks very much for your comments i will take them on board and make some amendments.
  15. Hi Guys, I am in the process of putting together a basic website for my final assignment and would really like some feedback on it. I have only completed 3 pages but the same layout will be used throughout the site. I wanted to see what you guys thought first (in case any changes are needed). As you can probably see from the site it is purely xhtml and css as this is all i have been learning so far. I am going to start studying photoshop next to try my hand at mock-ups and slicing etc. Anyway any constructive critisism welcome. My first live website Many Thanks Slinky
