At first i don't get it. And i think i can see why your creative director isn't too happy with it... The problem i see is your introduction, I just don't get it.. I think its the plane, i think you should remove that and just put a basic title and intro fixed in the top right. I feel you are trying to over impress and because of this you are creating confusion. When the interactive map is displayed i become confused once more... the navigation hiding itself does not help.. I reccommend having tips pop up automatically somewhere on the screen, may it be to the right or near the houses.. I'm not too sure about the popup windows for the other areas of the site, it looks rushed and it looks like all the effort went on the UI and interactive map. The information in the pop windows looks compressed, cluttered and worthless.. more of the screen should be used for this information.. I love the graphics! I don't know what your clients requirements are, but the image on the front page would make an awesome footer!! i feel you are wasting all that space just to show graphics off.... and thatis bad IMO. P.S your client is right, FLASH does suck.

Design your site to convince me and you should be on a winner then.

Sorry to say it but I think the business model won't work. If somones computerisbroke they are not going to be on the internet asking someone to repair it over the internet... If the computer is broke how are they going to get on the internet?

It wasn't aimed at you, i havn't seen you posting templates for reviews. Its just my general thoughts on the topic, not directed at anyone personally.

This thread is about people who clame they are intermediate/advanced designers who just use templates and then ask for reviews.... hahaha..

What the hell is the site about? Is it an IQ test or a dating site? And why are you stealing peoples pictures to use on the site? I would start again..

I am guessing this is going to be a small online shop selling home made knitt wear correct? I think your navigation style is fine, but the height needs to be made smaller, it overpowers the logo; after this i would then rename SHOP to knitwear and have it as a drop down menu, as the site isobviously a shop. Depending on what CMS you use, i would probably have a small section on the front page showing top sellers and most viewed knit wear, and 'Ruby Tuesday's reccommendation of the week' And you should be good to go!

Thats pretty damn good! 1 recommendation, have it show the nearest private airport using Smartphone's GPS and also next departures. You don't get that with a wordpress template.

Web designers who use wordpress templates because they don't know how to code them is just bad! This is how a 'proper' web design company will do things. The designer will design the site in photoshop and will show it to the client, once this is done and signed off it is then sent to to the developer The developer turns the photoshop design into a hardcoded theme to be used with the content management system wordpress or something.. Now the point i am getting at is this, If you are doing full sites for clients and are using wordpress templates because you don't know how to code You probably should rethink your career! Either specialize your skills or learn how to code. A 'designer' or just a 'developer' cannot be offering full built websites as freelance if you cannot do the above two points your self.

A lot of stuff being said in this thread are actually words and has probably never been implemented by yas, basically half these replies in this thread are textbook comments haha with no actaul RL experience in the field.. And all these themes look great an all on themeforest but in my opinion they are crap. Anyone can design a good looking theme where you just chuck dummy text to fill a design gap hahaha, THATS what themeforrest templates are mostly are.. The mickymouse designers who buy these, then design the clients needs around the site, when it should be the other way around and then end up with loads of usless information all over the site because they don't know how to code it away... I would never, use themeforest for thems ever, screw personal satisfaction you design it ya self so you, yourself can become the best. And one more thing, what about the administration panel in wordpress etc? What if your client wants an instant quote feature or something? maybee you want this too? but you don't implement it because you don't know how to hardcode it with custom admin tabs and options in the actual wordpress theme.. Basically i bet the admin panel looks like crap with templates, the main thing on any site. And saying wordpress takes ages to do is all bull, it takes ages if you dont know what your doing! Rant over.

Clean, simple but bare.. Green is a good color i'm using it on my portfolio, But in my opinion you cannot really have it on it's own. What i mean is this, you have one image and thats it, you need a few more images and it will bring the banner out more.. it will make your site look alive!

LOL, Not matter what country you are in, unless you have a rubbish internet connection there should not be ANY slow loading if the host is good. It's a fricking website site for goodness sake, probably under a 1 mb load! i use teamspeak and play people across the world in australia from a home connection and that is fine. I have had many experiences with US hosting and they suck because they lie about the service they offer you! American web hosts are the most dodgiest i've ever seen and experiences. Anyways, you should always host in your native country, not because of speed cos thats all bull****, butbecause you can sue if **** goes wrong orsomething.

Yea that is realy bad! How is the search engine meant to read your flash site? It can't so, you just won'y get online business..

Wouldn't that script be vulnable to mail spam exploits? If it is really getting its data from the $_POST anyone could technically abuse this, resulting in the guys IP being blacklisted.. Not sure what kind of contact form you have m8, especially if it is in flash..

Your portfolio is pretty decent, if it were for tablet devices only.. As for everything else, it needs some work m8.

This is not achievable with just PHP alone, you will have to have root access to your Apache server and add a new <virtualHosts> tag to the apache config file. Once your REGEX settings have been made, it will make any folder at the end of your url like www.domain.com/joeblogs accessible from this domain automatically joeblogs.domain.com Just to clarify, once your apache settings are done, you would simply create a new folder with php from the search term, and that subdomain will be created. I am not sure you can do this with shared hosting, you would need VPS/DS. A good place for you to start is to learn basic virtualhost configuration here http://httpd.apache....s/examples.html Remember, ANYTHING is possible with the Apache/PHP/REGEX combination!

Sell the product! The product being her. It's not entierly clear that she is a model, and the pictures on the banner are her. A good place to start will be solving this design and information layout issue.

It's great! I like all the content you have, the most important part of any portfolio IMO.

That's looking better, add a margin to the top and bottom of the banner so that there is like a 20px gap inbetween that and the How to lose weight title. Possibly make the header texts slightly smaller? The text in the banner however now looks like it is advertisment or something.

I agree with you, i just presumed there should be more content.

To improve it, i think you should do the following. Aknowledging it's dated is a good start to becoming a great designer! The "How to lose weight" title is to big make it smaller. Remove the border and background from the reccommended reading section and then move that content to the bottom of the page on that sidebar. Make the font smaller in your navigation The banner is the first thing your visitors will see there is to much text there in my opinion, probably do one big stricking title along with a background slider image? Give a little more breathing room at the top and bottom of your banner. Put your trending articles where your social media links are but float it to the right of the screen in 1 line. PUt your social media links above your search box. Then It will look more in-date.
