  1. I know you've probably took the site down for a banner.. Advice for the banner chang the font! go to google fonts they got a great selection.
  2. TheNickyYo replied to wellerweb's topic in General Chat
No, in my personal opinion just don't do it! You need to build client trust so they come back to you for updates and so that they will give good reviews!
  3. I only ask because twitter login is no longer availabe and the design has been changed and there is also less people on here.
  4. Don't have in depth details on the front page! Just taster details thats too much text for a front page! On the other pages you just have text and no images, you need to add some images in there so the reader has a snapshot of whats gong on before they read etc. You should also remove that static footer on the bottom, it makes the site feel small and trappy for me. And finally, the logo is fine! nothing wrong with that! just make the image part of the logo smaller and it will look good!
  5. Cheers for the feedback guys! @AaronAlderman Those borders shouldn't be there, fixed it now cheers for pointing that out you must be using the old IE browser.
  6. Please give feedback, cheers! www.froggycreative.com
  7. wow £20? some people are desperate.I would say £100 minimum.
  8. Hi all, I create this thread as i have always wondered this, why do webdesign companies use wordpress templates? I just don't see the logic in it, people say it saves time but does it really? I'm a designer and developer, i design in photopshop smash the design up into a wordpress template structure and then code the custom post types & taxonomies. The more i do it, the more better i become. I just feel that hacking about a template to suite someones needs could possible be more time consuming and less precise of what the client wants. Finally, is it dishonest? i see agences charging £1k+ for just modifying templates, does it really save time? or is it just the easy lazy route for some quick cash? Please, educate me!
  9. You got spelling mistakes and work that you claim to have done but didn't! On your portfolio site you have this http://themeforest.net/item/king-size-fullscreen-background-wordpress-theme/166299?WT.ac=category_thumb&WT.seg_1=category_thumb&WT.z_author=Denoizzed and claim it as your work just with a different background image on your portfolio!
  10. I guess it is, i also work for cheap too about 200-500 pound a site bespoke and packaged with wordpress. Bad times for economy, Got to start somewhere! I also disagree with a lot of your comments raports. The skills bar is fine, it gives one an idea of where someone is at skills wise thats linking to eachother. And also deejaydiamond If you did design this, and you're new, you have got talent right there! Your site does have quite a few cons, like the confusion of over where you should place your content but apart from that i think it will improve over time. Learn to do little details like bendy shadow etc to seperate the content and remember little details are big details and your sorted!
  11. It's not a business site as i have no clue how to start of by getting clients.. I put this together as a portfolio to start applying for web development jobs however i designed it like this so it could possibly turn into some kind of business in the future. Thanks for all the replies all, i still need to make it responsive and add blog content etc..
  12. Ok, just updated allmost all the suggestions, though the font size is ok on my 23" monitor but then again i'm on a PC, are you guys on a mac? If you are is it possible you could post a screenshot please of what it looks like? cheers!
  13. What you mean by huge space in the middle column?
  14. Thanks for the feedback! You are right the zig-zag line should be smaller, i'll do that now. The logo i'll have a look to see if it can be improved. Yea the sky lol, that started of as an HTML 5 Canvas game with one eyed frogs in ufos to my background haha, it does all need work i'ts just a basis. As for the header i am yet to add a blog section and a couple of others, i tried to keep it simple would you say it is too simple?
  15. If so please vote for me cheers! http://forrst.com/i/mzUJ?previous=329004
  16. Cheers for the reply, would you say make the footer green darker? Yea i'm going to re-code it all from scratch and make it responsive at some point, theres a lot of useless code on the site from previous versions. Text to be larger? no problem! cheers for the advice!
  17. Just finished, would you guys say it is good? or is it missing something, i feel its still missing something.. p.s i didn't put much info about myself as thats what a CV is for. www.froggycreative.com
  18. How have you been a pro wordpresser for over 10 years when wordpress came out in May 27, 2003?
  19. For custom post types you could use this plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-post-type-ui/
  20. Ok so i created a custom post type for pictures etc, now i want this pictures page with the slug 'pictures' to appear in the navigation. Is it best to do it as a custom link or do it as a category? The only problem with category is that i get the category name and then the slug.. it then uses the index page as it's template when i want it to use the pictures template.. I could add a page just for the only purpose for a link but it feels dirty. So custom direct link acheives this and works. And category acheives this and don't work. Is it good practice to use full direct links in the navigation menu than instead of just the slug or linking the nav to a category? I also want this pictures page navigation item to be there automatically on theme install with the option to move it, otherwise how will the owner of the theme know what the slug for that page is called? i was thinking of using this method (Read the second post) http://wordpress.sta...-and-menu-items It all works with this, i just need to know is this the correct and best practice way of doing it or is there something simplar? Cheers!
  21. Looks like the .HTACCESS or 'SLUG' as you call it is ****ed up.
  22. Unless you work for ubisoft, it looks like your a fraud. Your last screenshot is a shot of a ubisofts website, you even left their header in it..
