  1. I use to own my jacktracy.me with the intention of putting together a little site. I don't think I renewed it in the end (trying not to sit on so many domains this year!). Must put that back on the todo list.
  2. I think it'll be a while until these new domains are 'opted' for by the general public, at the moment most people are confused by them. A good example is a client of mine who registered .co domain for their company, they came back two weeks later and asked for support registering the .co.uk as too many people were getting confused. I certainly like the amount of creative freedom these new domains give us one with even more possibilities. I picked up a few weeks ago - craftedinthe.uk (now time to do something with it!). I think the point I'm trying to get to is register one of these new ones, but keep the .com/org/uk for those not so tech savvy people.
  3. Like BlueDreamer I use a 13" MacBook Air for when out and about away from my desk. Design (Photoshop) I find the screen a bit small (although fine for just wanting to make quick edits to files), Development wise I find the screen size absolutely fine.
  4. I was just wondering if anyone else has used http://peek.usertesting.com before? I came across the link on Twitter, and got them to do a review on my Portfolio (you can do up to three sites a month free). 48 hours later, I got sent back a 4 minute video of someone using my website and commentating throughout about what they liked/disliked, and why they clicked in certain places (It's also interesting to watch where they put their curser!). I'm not sure who the person was behind the video, and wether they were also a web designer etc, but to me it sounded like a genuine 'guinea pig'. The site is currently in beta, so will be interesting to see what direction Peek goes in. I've put this in the Reviews/Feedback Section, as I think this can be quite a useful resource!
  5. Check out ebuyer.com, I buy most of my electrical goodies from them (most are impulse buys because they have some really good deals at times). I tend to avoid physical shops these days (apart from supermarkets), too many slow people!
  6. I think the worst part of these videos is actually the descent afterwards!
  7. Amin, please take this site down. If you had been in contact with me beforehand, I would have been more than happy to give you some guidance on where my design inspiration come from, and maybe even gave you a copy of my code for you to tinker around with. The fact you've not asked, leads me to believe your trying to make some kind of gain from (even if it's on a free hosting network) the site. If it's an honest mistake, no worries, just remove it please.
  8. Yes, couldn't agree more about 1and1, every time I have a client over there I try my best to move them over to TSO Host when their contract runs out!
  9. Thanks everyone! Hopefully we can get some more entries this month to make it a bit more a competition!
  10. Basingstoke, Hampshire.
  11. Had a bit of free time this evening so start working on a little postcard that will be sent out to all my regular/current clients, wishing them a happy christmas. Still not 100% complete/happy with it at the moment!
  12. I think to give you a proper answer people might need a bit more information. I'm guessing she already has a shop set up? If so, what is she running that on?
  13. I think the reason why you may not have had many replies is because at the moment there isn't much to review. Maybe spend a few more hours on it, and then post up another shot and you may get some more replies. And what you've done so far is good just need to see a bit more to give it a 'review'.

Why didn't you then?! Sometimes it's best to leave WordPress out for simple sites
  15. I'm not 100% sure what's happening, I've only had a quick look, but just by adding textarea, input { border: 1px solid #fff; } at the bottom of your CSS sheet it made the three boxes identical in Chrome.
  16. First thing first, ditch the stat counter and install Google Analytics (only requires a simple file in the header). Also, on your 'Home/About' page your comments/contact form seems to have mixed styles for each box so might want to look into that too. Other than good site, also nice to see it's responsive
  17. TSO. Don't look any further. I've been with them about a year now, and now I'm moving all my clients over to them. Their support can't be compared to any other companies.
  18. I know, it's early! I was just wondering if anyone had any links to high quality Christmas Graphic packs? Interested in both free and paid ones!

I know what you mean! I've had several clients on random hosts which don't let you have access to the most simple things! In the end I convince them to move over
  20. Agree it has to be over a period of time. Just offering 20% off for the first month wouldn't interested me

In the end I found a WordPress Plugin which managed to download the whole database.
  22. Free Domain when purchasing hosting any package.
