I am new to this forum basically.

 

I have a sports forum website basically which has been on the web for the past year and its stats show over 18,000 vists, 190,000 page views and an average session duration of 24.00 minutes. However my adsense earnings are of around only 17.00 Eur.

 

I was thinking about optimising my website for SEO, converting it to wordpress from codeigniter, but at the end of the day I would like to start to earn some money on the amount I invested on the website. Can I earn a steady income from Google ads if I get a lot of people from google searches?

 

Can Anyone suggest ways on how to make my website generate monthly income apart from paid signups?

I forgot to mention that I was also looking into the possibilty of daily article writing for my website, I wonder if that helps though

Sure! Whilst you have a small amount of traffic, it's the quality that counts. Work on general optimisation of the website, get some decent content on there to extend visibility and maybe look at affiliate stuff. You could look at selling banner space for a fixed sum too

I don't believe that sports websites won't produce huge money, until it works with some interesting live updates. Instead you can try to start a tech related website by blogging recent tech news and software reviews.

By performing seo , you can generate good amount of traffic towards the website.Once certain number of visitors starts flowing into your website , then you can make use of the adsense option.Also targeted visitors for a website will help to increase the leads and revenue/

Deffo on the banner space; look for an industry partner for either exclusive sponsorship advertising or an affiliate e.g. Amazon affiliate store of selected sports products or mandmdirect.com etc.
