There are various tools for image compression. I would reccomend you to use caesium 1.14.1, file minimizer pictures 3.0, or Image optim 1.4.0

In my view, you can easily redesign your old website. Also, creating a new website can give you new and different responsive website which would be easily accesible from a varierty of devices besides conventional PC.
