I have just started a web design course with Home learning on the creative suite CS5.5, I am a 44 year old just wanting a change in life after being a Chef for 30 years and I am beginning to create my very first web site and am wanting to embed a particular song into the background with a widget that can control the on and off as well as the volume, would this be the same way as adding a flash video?

There's a million reasons not to add music to websites but if you do, make sure it is off by default!

 

You can add it like flash or you can use the new HTML5 Audio tag...

You'd probably be better off creating a pop out player otherwise you'll lose the sound on every page change.

And not forgetting any potential law suits over copyright issues.
