Forum Commenting - How?

Featured Replies

I have been searching for a basic guide on how to forum comment and the best forums to leave comments with for SEO purposes!

I have read numerous things from different sources and I have come to the conclusion that I am confused haha!

Can someone who has experience with this please help and point me in the right direction?

Thank you in advance!

If you go to the forum with the sole intention of getting a link to your website, you'll be sniffed out and it won't be worth it.

You have to take time, participate in discussions and generally contribute to the forum. Just like this one.

Most forums (or those worth any sort of seo weight) will no be nofollow and won't add to your overall domain authority. Having said that, forums can be a great place to gain trust with users and promote a product.

Now, I know thats not fully answering your question but it's something to consider

...makes two of us, purely because you are asking how to comment on a forum, by commenting on a forum - mind=blown.

But yeah, commenting on forums just to spam your link will be jumped onto instantly. Just network with people, and talk and converse and who knows :)

Your posts on a forum should be constructive enough so that other members feel you are knowledgeable, helpful and kind. If forum members see you as an integral part of the team and find you to be professional then your signature links might get clicked, which is the main purpose of signature links, not seo. However, one must not rule out the possibility of SEO benefits because most forums do NOT put nofollow code into signature URLs. Be advised though, if your posts are not of relevant content to your website then the link value is degraded.

Most forums are not follow, indeed. However, it is still a good idea to post on forums and engage with people, just like people do on social networks.

I personally believe that having a profile with a link on any forum can give some goodness from SEO perspective.
