But, I do not have photoshop etc so I use Microsfot publisher to come out witht the fonts and words. Thereafter, I used Paint which is free to cut out the desired size. But, it turned out the logo is quite jagged. Could some one advise me how to make it not jagged. Many thanks.

Those colors together are very harsh on the eyes and do not mix very well. Try using some better color combinations. Go to kuler.adobe.com/ to get some good colors. As far as the actual logo itself, you will need a program dedicated to the task. Gimp is free but far too complicated to create something as simple as this. For you I suggest you use a free online tool called Phoenix (http://aviary.com). You can still create your logo for free, and not have to install any complicated software. Can I just click click click and the jagged edges will disappear ? Not unless you have a magic wand.

Yes, red is what was showing. The color (in RGB values) was Red: 255, Green: 29, Blue: 0. (see attached). As you can see, this is very red. I guess to use Adobe Kuler, you would need to learn a little about Color Theory (I know, more learning, but its part of the game), but once you do, it will help you choose color combinations that are pleasing to the eye. A good resource is http://www.worqx.com/color/index.htm Aviary software does take a little learning (as does anything), but the learning curve is much lower than say Photoshop or Gimp.

I tried to copy your image and change the image background to #790301 which is the type of light green that I want, but without avail. Could you kindly do me a favour by changing the background color to that green please? Also, is it better to have or without outline of the words ?
May 30, 201016 yr Author #790301 is maroon could use a hand too Sorry, my mistake, the background colour should be #00ff00. Thanks for the new logo but I prefer the 1st logo, as it doesn't blend with my plain website.

That is a horrible green if that is also the background colour Because you want to use the orange on that green if you take of the border I personally don’t think it looks right

After merging in your 1st logo, it looks better. But, when I resize it to fit in to my website, there are alot of pixels around; dots - think it's called noise....around ... Could you do me a favour - please help me to resize it to 276px(width) by 70px(height) please? Thank you very much.

Also I don’t get how its producing noise as the image is bigger already so would only tighten up if reduced?

May 30, 201016 yr Author Thank you Torix for helping me out like that. I havn't put up my website yet as I'm wretling with alot of problem. I spent 3 weeks talking to web hosting companies to find out majority use MYSQL and I only learnt Ms access. So, till now then I found a web hosting company. And I'm not sure if the support staff will help me look into the Java servlet connectivity part because I'm not familiar with MYSQL and can't do a test on my end. So, that's basically the story.

May 30, 201016 yr Use illustrator, and do some vectoring that will get you the best results. But you should put the text settings to sharp, and use a font like arial. And instead of a green bg, why not have it transparent?

I like green alot buy yeah I agreed if it is made into something like a transparent green for the background, it will look nicer. Do you mind help me to transform my logo ?

I want to make it more lively. Initially wanted to have a hi-five hand sign behind the 5 but need alot of time to make it work....can you help? Now, my logo at my website it's still jagged because when I enlarge it and tried to fill up the green inside the empty spaces, it erases some of the green area so now it's jagged again...
July 22, 201016 yr It’s jagged simply because the picture is too small. Really you just need to remake it at the desired size. Anything else really wouldn’t be worth the effort. I wouldn’t download Photoshop as that’s really photo and graphic editing software, with this you could increase the size then apply an effect or blur the pixels but it wouldn’t look much cop and as i have said it would be much easier to remake it. If you want to make your logo better start from scratch with a program like Illustrator or Coral Draw. With these you can create your logo using vectors and save it to whatever size you want.

Here's a very quick example of something using contrasting colours. Yes. Grey and Green looks really very pleasing to the eyes. But, I have this pet peeve of not liking Grey in my logo. Can you suggest another way of doing it without making it grey? Or changing the background to some other kind of green? I'm not very sure or something transparent with a tint of green....i wish there's an easy software out that can allow me to play with all these kind of things....

Get GIMP. its a free alternative to photoshop...not as good, but will do a lot of the basic things.
