GOT MY MAC

Featured Replies

I finally got my first mac (as well as CS4 MC) :)

I love it now compared to windows - even with 1GB RAM is still extremely fast :)

Thanks to everyone who told me to get one :)

Welcome to the club. Your now a better designer, and cooler than all the PC losers :D haha

Macs are sooo over-rated imo lol

Still, enjoy :)

but the logo on the lid lights up dude... LIGHTS UP!

ROFL!

Oh well, in that case, I'll rush out and get one right now!

WOW! A logo that lights up! like omg!

lol

To be honest, I think with me it's just that I've got so used to using a pc (be it windoze or Linux) that I just can't be arsed with getting used to a new OS. The last time I used a mac with any frequency, it was using os9 lol, on an old g3 imac.

Oh no.... another Mac snob!

(JK! enjoy :D )

Is that the new burger from McDonalds?

Is that the new burger from McDonalds?

Ha ha! Yes...... It's overpriced and tastes just like a regular hamburger.

The logo on my windows based laptop lights up too...and funnily enough it is not a half eaten apple.

Enjoy your new toy peartree

I'd recommend trying VMware Fusion was well. I have used both an personally think WMware is much better. Do a search for current 'parallels vs vmware' and you will find that's the general consensus.

LOL

But what happens if you own a Mac and don't like coffee?...!

but the logo on the lid lights up dude... LIGHTS UP!

That made me LOL.

Congratulations though Peartree. Glad you made the decision to move away from the dark side :D.

And for those of you still bashing Macs, claiming they're overrated. Have a read of this, you may understand a little more why some prefer to use Macs for development purposes.

Sounds good, I'm quite interested in a Mac Mini for designing, one day I'm going to treat myself to one, not because I prefer Macs, but because I know that on a Mac I'll just work... Because there's nothing else to do one them other than that!!

But seriously, your Mac is probably fast because it's new, all computers are very fast when you first get them.

lol Traxor, Macs dont slow down like windows PCs.

It is possible to make a mac slow down with age - especially if you fill up the hard disk as the mac uses the unused hard disk space as virtual memory. If you fill it up, there can be a noticable slowing down. Also, if you never shut it down because you can't be bothered to retype all your email passwords (like my mrs :p ) you can end up with it going slow.

But generally you're right. Slowing down over time is not a characteristic of any unix-like operating system. In fact, I think it's a feature trademarked by microsoft :p

Someone in my family has a mac mini and has it full of stuff and yup its sows down just like a windows PC :)

You dont need to shut a PC / Mac off either - just make sure that you de-fragment it once every so often :)

^Here is the person that stole my Mac^

I am using a Vista machine and it is so cumbersome to do anything! Full Stop. I hate using it. Now don't get me wrong I love Windows (although you wouldn't think so) I have an MS-DOS machine - it actually works! But what were they thinking with Vista? Looks can be deceiving I tell you "Lets make it look pretty, then think about putting in stuff people will actually use!" I see no real difference between Vista and XP other than this stupid theme that I refuse to use, and a generally more 'bloated' system. Windows Classic for me Sir. I currently do not know of any major international firm that has rolled out Vista.. unless anyone can shed some light. V for Vista baby!

Solution: I have just bought an iMac

29/04/09, 23:06 - My Vista machine is on it's 3rd restart since 14.15, I'll keep you posted.

29/04/09, 23:08 - This has turned into a rant about Vista
