Overall the UI is very good indeed, what I think could look better is the sidebar (left) on desktop version and the call window, the blurred effect makes it difficult to read the text and see the images, a plain colour would be much better, perhaps even white.

All points made here will be taken on board, but do remember that the site has gone live unfinished (as I said in the op), I am aware of the problems as is the client but it was important for the client to have the site live as soon as possible (for their own reasons). At the end of the day if the client is happy for it to go live then there is nothing a designer can do, no matter what one's personal views. I didn't realise that there were more than one h1 tag in a page and that will certainly be fixed soon. Rallport, I have not implemented any feature, if you had used muse you would know that the site is designed and the code is output by muse, short of going in and changing the code everytime a change is made to the site, either by myself or the client, there is nothing that can be done, the code is republished in it's entirety by muse every single time. The same applies to any widgets used (in this case a fontawsome one).

A limitation of adobe muse unfortunately, one of it's weaknesses is the code it generates.

Fisicx, all valid points but as I said the site is going to be about the shop but just not now, the client wanted the site online straight away while they go about adding the products, not an ideal but the client has the right to do what they want. The gallery will be before and after pictures, again this is being updated by the client. its mobile because they can bring the showroom (or at least a part of it) to their customers.

Hi Guys, this is a site we have completed for a bathroom showroom. The client wanted a simple site with shopping cart. The shopping cart part of the site is not ready to go online yet as it is quite extensive but the client wanted the site online as soon as possible, hence the missing shopping components. The site was created in adobe muse, the shopping cart will be ecwid. http://www.mobilecountrybathrooms.co.uk/

The simple answer is buy the product that meets your requirements, rather than thinking that you have to have a mac because that is what everyone else has. If your budget allows it get the best possible computer you can, I don't think as a web designer the spec needs to be that high, it's not as if you are rendering videos and 3d environments.

I think that look of the site is perfectly fine, it's a tool for developers not the end client, and I doubt many clients would check to see that their site was responsive or not. There are some tweeks you could do to the text/layout etc but they would be small. I am experiencing some strange behaviour, when I enter http://muse.adobe.com/ and then ask to render on a device instead of testing the site it goes to the site itself.

I am in full agreement with fuzzy logic on this, the client has asked for your services as the professional so must trust that you will deliver on their brief, yes sometimes you will have clients who will think that they can design better than you but they are in the minority. We make it clear from the start that the end user is the site's visitor and therefore their potential customer and it is that potential customer who needs to be impressed. As far as avoiding people I think it depends on whether you need the work or not, having said that we stay clear if in the first conversation the client says "I'm a perfectionist", those people really are the worse, especially when they have a logo in comic sans or papyrus.

If you want people to go to your site from social media then give them a reason to. Interesing, regularly update content on your blog which would entice people into retweeting/sharing your content is the best way. Also look at which geographical audience you want to target, for example; there are certain times of the day when it is best to tweet so that it appears on your followers' timelines, giving the tweet a higher chance of being seem.

There are certain limitations to 100% width images in muse which resulted in using a transparent background png with the purple background. A condensed jpg gave problems with the purple half of the image. Anyway these will not happen with the responsive update.

Thanks, it is't resposive because the software used (adobe muse) is not resposive but the site is adaptive, so if you view on mobile you will see the mobile version, on tablet the tablet version etc. There is an update to muse coming up so it will be responsive by the new year.

At least 25% of clients manage to mess up most wordpress sites and they are best removed from one's portfolio, most of the time we will limit the changes they can make but some will ask you not to do that, wordpress sites or in fact any cms can end up being a complete headache sometimes, this is a chance for you to upsell your services, either offer a maintenance contract or go for ad-hoc pricing as and when the client requires say a new page. Also remember that most clients never use the cms past the first initial week or so.

We wanted to keep the site simple and allow the amazing jewelry to stand out, hence we have limited the content. I like that you have kept it all really minimal, looks nice, I have another suggestion as well as James's suggestion of a retro font; the product descriptions overlap the images and on most it is very difficult to read, perhaps increase the padding between the two.

You are right that the site isn't responsive, it is however adaptive, so that a different version is delivered to different devices, this has the drawback of more work than a responsive site but it means that each version can be very specifically targeted to a various devices.

Micky is reffering to various people who offer to give you 1000 likes for $5, stay away from these, your goal as a business should be to build up a social community for your brand and the only way to do that is to be active on social media sites, provide engaging content which people (real people) will interact with and increase your likes/followers like that.

Like the site, nice layout. Just one thing though, on the contact page the submit button is missplaced, it is at the top and covers the FAQ section.

We created a site for a client who wanted something different from the typical sites of their industry and we came up with the idea of using slanted panels, we could have done the site in wordpress but wanted to have full freedom in design so went for adobe muse, the site's pretty large and is in 4 different languages plus each language has ecommerce as well. The major problem with laptops is heat, and the most common cause of that is dust, most people do not know that there is a filter in laptops and this can get clogged very quickly, this can lead to overheating and usually dries out the thermal paste so that the processor will slow right down and that is a common problem on used laptops, usually all it takes is a quick spray of canned air to keep it clear but sometimes you just have to open up the laptop and give it a good clean and replace the thermal paste. Around here techs charge about £35 for a clean and to replace the paste, which is well worth it as on some laptops getting to the fan and processor can be difficult and time consuming.
