According to IE the error is on line 192. 2. How do i go about creating a digital watermark that tracks what people do with the images? Thanks for the helpful posts by the way guys
  3. thats good!, i didnt think of that but i use the lightbox effect for my photogallery
  4. Hey, whats the best possible method to stop users from downloading images?. I know it is completely impossible to stop people from downloading images (thanks to the print screen key), but what is the best deterrent? I know you can prevent the right click function (thanks to javascript) but i've seen another method that replaces the image you try and save with anther file (mostly 'image.php') anyone got any ideas on how to do this? Thanks for looking
  5. Hi there, I'm looking for a mass/bulk image resizer that allows me to specify the output file type, auto rename the images, watermark the images and if possible create a thumbnail for the images. I've already found a pretty good one program, but its pretty pricey for a basic program. Anyways, i'm just curious if anyone knows another program that can do all that is listed above?, i'm willing to pay for the program if it worth my while, thanks .
  6. touch on it?, so it only mentions it briefly, or does it show you how to use them etc
  7. I've ordered the book, i mentioned before. Was just wondering if anyone knows if it contains anything about Divs?, was reading the description on play.com but didn't mention it (everything but infact)
  8. Hey i was checking on play.com for this book, and i noticed that a newer version of this book has been released in 2006. It can be found here. Anyways, i was just wondering if this book explains how to use Divs etc. am fed up of using tables in my websites and want something that is more flexable to work with, and heard divs are the way to go.
  9. I like the look of the layout, its simple yet elegant. Although, the purple banner is eye catching, it distracts me a bit. Maybe the colour could be toned down?. Also the navigation is a bit plain, don't like the all capitials either. I suppose your already pondering this thou, since its still in the early stages. Overall i like it
  10. i don't agree with that statement. I haven't seen a cube based logo that looks like ours yet. The text maybe is similar to others, but features different colours, font and glossy effect. I've obviously seen the reflection effect before, but i suppose thats part of the influence as to why, i created this text in the first place.
  11. Hmm... am going to be really honest here. 1. Your background is far to bright, it actually distracts me from reading the page content. That needs to be toned down. 2. Your logo is a standard photoshop brush....Need i say anymore? 3. The website is hosted a Freewebs, and your domain name is free. Tell me, why would anyone purchase your services, when you won't even purchase a web host or domain name. Personally, i think you need to expand your knowledge in all aspects of web design, (html, css, photoshop, web standards etc) before offering your services to people. Being honest, i don't think you'll have a paying client anytime soon.
  12. This image shows the reflection underneath the G This one shows no reflection. Personally, i think the reflection underneath the G doesn't look right. It looks much better the way it is.
  13. Yeah it was a hard decision when it came to the g. I've already tried both ways you have mentioned, and i believe it looks better the way it currently is. Although you are right, the g would actually be hitting the surface, it looks rather odd that the reflection occurs after the g. Doesn't look right in my opinion. Sorry about the Demo demo, just really protective of our work, am sure you'll understand. But yeah, i know what ya saying, so i think we'll upload a version that doesn't include demo demo. Actually it took longer, we experimented with colours, reflections, shadows, fonts, glossy etc. Time isn't really a factor anyways, we have thought about this logo before we even began creating it in photoshop.
  14. ah yeah i see what you mean, hmmm might have a play around with that. Err we decided upon the cube because when we think of pixel, we think of squares. But we decided to add a twist to the pixel by making it 3D and shading one part blue, to match the design part of the font. We did originally pixelate the globe, but after recieving alot of negative feedback, we decided to re-think our design. I'm still not to sure on what approach to take with the logo now. I'm contenplating a new look again
  15. I think your right. There is something about the design i don't like but i can't put my finger on it. I'll see what i can do with the reflections. Thanks Constructive critisism is welcome!, thats why we posted our logo on here in the first place. I think your also right, will have a play around with the text and see what happens . Thanks Myself and my partner are happy with the font style and spacing, but we may remove the grid effect. hmm does anyone else have an idea as to what i could use instead of a cube?, or suggest an effect/style to apply to the cube to make it more alluring and appealing. The reason we choose the cube in the first place is because it represents a pixel, with a twist. Thanks for the suggestions!
  16. Well...here i am again with a new logo!. The last time i posted my logo, both myself and my partner learnt some valuable tips on creating a succesful logo, and hopefully we have inputted them into our new logo design . From the feedback we gathered from our last logo, we learnt that logo's should contain the following: Two/Three Colours Max No small details, that can't be seen at a small size Company Name Anyways, for those of you who can't remember/haven't seen the previous logo, here it is. After receiving alot of negative feedback from the logo, we decided to change our approach and start from fresh, to produce the following logo. (I apologise in advance for the demo wrote over the logo, but since both myself and my partner have worked hard on it, we decided to include this writing to protect our work) Anyways, all feedback and comments are appricated. If you have any tips on how to improve the logo, please let us know. Thank you
  17. hmmm i'm a bit put off by the pricing to be honest. I know its a good CMS and all, but paying that much each time around seems a bit to much to me. Thank you for your advice thou, much appricated.
  18. hey ben!, Thanks for the link to ExpressionEngine, seems a really good CMS and is exactly what i'm after!. However, i do have a few questions regarding it. I noticed you may have to pay depending on what you need it for. As i was considering using this on a clients website, would i have to pay?. Also if i did pay, would i have to continually pay if i wanted to use it again on another clients website.
  19. Well basically i'm looking for a highly customisble CMS. I've noticed that with alot of CMS you basically have to work around their design and structure. I've recently be using 'CMS from Scratch' as its easy to install and fits perfectly to any design i create. However, i've noticed there are a few bugs with the program, and it doesn't seem to be updated very often. It's also based as a flatpack file and doesn't require the use of any databases. Anyways, am looking for a higly customisble CMS that i can easilly implement into my designs. I'm new at the whole CMS scene, and was looking for something simple to start me off as pratice. Thanks for looking
  20. I designed my logo with concept and ideas that are relavant to our service and to our company name. When you say the apple represents the ever changing quality of their gadgets/computers, it is only YOUR INTERPRETATION of the logo meaning. I'm not saying this isn't the meaning, but it is only your opinion. You also mis-understood me. I didn't say Apple should use a logo relevant to there business or the services. I simply stated that they don't.
  21. I did mention in my second reply that the logo will appear next to the company name, wheather it be on the website or business card. I focused on europe because we are based in england, thought it would be a nice touch to focus on this particular area. Also thanks for the link to the 2008 trends. Will definatly be having a look at some of those websites. Thanks Thanks for the link, i like the look of that globe and you could be onto something there with the pixelation effect around the ribon. I think you actually understand what we tried to create with this logo . In todays standard of logo's, not many represent the company name, as well as the service the company offers. Look at Apple for instance, does there logo represent what they do or actually have any meaning to the company?. Thanks you for all the feedback on the logo. We'll definatly be re-designing the logo with less colours, less detail and effects.
  22. We purposely made europe big, as we are from England. The saturn ring is actually just a mixture of different colour layers at different optacites. Well, when i think of the internet (and how big it is), i imagion the planet. And as a web designing is based on the internet, i decided to include this in the logo. By including our pixelated effect into the globe, i feel it is incoperating our name and design into the logo. I agree with what your saying about the colours, i see how that is confussing now. However, i don't see how the logo is dated, could you explain?. The logo would obviously appear next to the company name, whether that be on the business card or the website. Many logos on there own don't represent the actual company. Look at Apple for instance, if you didn't know who they are or what they did, would you associate there logo with a computer empire?. However, i think we'll take your advice and re-design the logo using alternative methods. We'll definatly use less colours, and try a more 2.0 web style. Thanks for taking the time to look at it thou
  23. Already made a similar post, but decided to create a new one in this section . Basically, myself and my partner are trying to start our own webdesign business called 'Pixelise Designs'. So far, this is the logo we have created for it, and we want to gather feedback. As the company is going to be called pixelise designs, we have decided to pixelise one half of the globe. We also decided to use a globe since we feel it represents webdesign. All feedback appricated
