Hey, I'm currently designing a Text based mafia game and I'm having a small problem with my CSS in a text feild. As you can see in the image below it's sort of miss-places, And i need it to be like about 2 px from the left, or maybe even centered, and about 1-2px from the top, so it's perfect like a normal text feild. Here is the CSS for the feild: .input { width: 220px; height: 24px; background-image:url(../imgs/indexlogin/INPUT.png); padding: 0px; margin: 0px; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; color: #101010; border: 0px; margin-left: 1px; } and here is an image of the problem: Thanks!! Help would be very much appreciated!!!! Thanks

Some sites offer free WHOIS protection such as 'namecheap'. WHOIS basically tells someone who owns the domain such as microsoft.com would be owned by the microsoft corporation, It might show the address aswell of the buisness / customer, I'd suggest you get it, but it's not VITAL. Spam Assassin would most likely be a e-mail anti-spam I would assume, Again not a vital feature. Good luck
  5. Most of the Multimillion companies have good lawyers etc and people on the law side so it's more likely for them to take action. A DDoS attack will probebely take a site down for a few hours if or days but eventually it will stop, Unless it's a botnet of some sort. Smaller companies tend to pass on the DDoS attack as nothing. But for anyone who uses web hosting servers or has there own, I suggest getting a ciscus firewall, It will help prevent a DDoS attack. Good luck in the future.

  7. Welcome, I'm also interested in Java, I've been using Eclipse alot lately.
  8. I prefer the top thumbnail, It looks much more professional and cleaner, Definetly the top on for me.
  9. You could buy hosting and a domain like a .com and use wordpress for blogging? Quite a few people use wordpress, I highly reccomend it to anyone.

Thank you! The CSS File worked and the alignment has worked perfectly! Never knew it could be so simple looking at the css. I forgot to add doctype, I was rushing it a little bit. But again Thank you

I'm having some trouble with a layout, I've basically created a psd file and made 2 different .png files, 1 called content.png and one called backlay.png, The backlay is the background image but it has like a green bar about 200 pixels high, Like a bar, And when i add a table and centre it in the html and add the content.png to it, I can't get it to align correctly, Like the top part is higher and the content.png in the table is a little bit lower, It could be because the table won't reach the top of the page. I was thinking of using a frame and CSS to align it but i'm not sure, Anyone got any idea's.? It's hard to explain so i'll upload so here is a picture and the code. <html> <head></head> <body> <table width="800" height="613" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td background="imgs/complete_bg.png"> </td> </tr> </table> </body> </html> I know it's a stupid thing to help with but it confuses me, Thanks!
  12. I would say ask the client, They have the best idea of what he wants the content to show. It's the best way to go.
  13. Also i forgot to mention that there is some premium forum boards such as vbulletin and ip baord. But i'd suggest a free one as the premiums can be quite expensive. Here's a small list i came up with: FREE VERSIONS SMF (There's a 2.0 Version in BETA Testing you can use) PHPBB MyBB (Reccomended, Very easy to use!) yaBB (I Don't reccomend, Go for ones with nice skins etc, yaBB doesn't have many options with it) PREMIUM VERSIONS IP.Board vBulletin [Only if you can afford them, Expensive scripts / software] And i also saw something called 'Dolphin' I can't exactly remember the name but it's a full site software you upload to the host and you can basically design the whole site without knowing any coding language. But that also cost's to remove copyright etc.
  14. As she stated there was a DoS attack on virgin media, And some clients couldn't load static pages such as: facebook.com etc, All sites with a static ip. And also i found that some sites the CSS pages to other sites wouldn't load. This went on for about a day or two but it is now fixed. Hopefully it won't happen again!
  15. Those forums look self coded and designed to me, You could try making your own, It looks quite moderate from my perspective but if you have a good knowledge of: HTML, PHP, MySQL and CSS, You should be ok, If not Try SMF or have a google about and look for some free php forum scripts. Good Luck! ~ Smudge

Hey, If anyone is wondering, The MSN Servers are having problems, Therefore on msn clients and emails you can not send a message or receive in any conversation. I was told by a friend of mine who works with microsoft at technet this problem will be solved soon! However there is a small sollution if you are desperate, The online web messengers works such as: http://www.iloveim.com - Just login with your msn, Don't worry all the information is encrypted etc. This is the only way for a working msn till microsoft fix the problem! hope this helps! EDIT :: 22:48PM [GMT] MICROSOFT HAVE FIXED PROBLEM THE NOW
