September 14, 200916 yr I am a big fan of a football fourm and find the usablitly of it great and the fact you can see all the topics easily and bump things up to the top by replying. I would love to get someone to do me a forum with the same principles. here is the fourm - http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=683& Is there a forum software similar available ?
September 14, 200916 yr Those forums look self coded and designed to me, You could try making your own, It looks quite moderate from my perspective but if you have a good knowledge of: HTML, PHP, MySQL and CSS, You should be ok, If not Try SMF or have a google about and look for some free php forum scripts. Good Luck! ~ Smudge
September 14, 200916 yr There are plenty of free options available for you to choose from. First, you're going to need to check with your host that you're allowed a MySql database and that your server supports PHP, then you can go ahead and download/install MyBB - a free bulletin board that I'd highly recommend. There are many plugins developed for the software and it's also easily customisable, so there's nothing stopping you from creating a website like the one in your post! The only difference is that yours will probably be nicer!!!
September 14, 200916 yr Also i forgot to mention that there is some premium forum boards such as vbulletin and ip baord. But i'd suggest a free one as the premiums can be quite expensive. Here's a small list i came up with: FREE VERSIONS SMF (There's a 2.0 Version in BETA Testing you can use) PHPBB MyBB (Reccomended, Very easy to use!) yaBB (I Don't reccomend, Go for ones with nice skins etc, yaBB doesn't have many options with it) PREMIUM VERSIONS IP.Board vBulletin [Only if you can afford them, Expensive scripts / software] And i also saw something called 'Dolphin' I can't exactly remember the name but it's a full site software you upload to the host and you can basically design the whole site without knowing any coding language. But that also cost's to remove copyright etc.
September 14, 200916 yr get smf (easy to use) and get someone to code the design for you loads of people on the smf forums will do it, if you ask in the help wanted board
September 14, 200916 yr I'd avoid SMF to be honest, go with something like MyBB, much easier to install and theme! Plus with great support.
September 14, 200916 yr i have done a few smf customisations and find it easier than myBB, and easier to upgrade. SMF is a bit of a pain to get used to, but take 20 mins to look through the code and its pretty simple
September 14, 200916 yr Author My issue is I have looked online for many exisiting forum software and non come close to this design and structure. I have vbulletin already on another site. But Like I said I would love a forum this same structure I could really make it work in a different format as it is so userfrindly and easy to use. No need to click into other forums.
September 14, 200916 yr Author If any of you guys could replicate this send me a email with your quotes. Willing to listen to offers. But not looking to spend a great deal. Ideally there is some script out there similar to this. Footymad forum. I have knowledge of mysql databases etc and all that is already on my hosting I have 4 left to work with.
