October 13, 200916 yr Hey guys if anyone wants a sweet labtop and is looking for a great deal, get a Dell Inspiron 15. It cost me 450 dollars and it works great. Has 350 GB RAM and it's awesome...
October 13, 200916 yr the most i've seen is 12Gb on a 64bit Win 7 machine, I think that's as high as it goes at the moment. One day I'll have a computer that doesn't say 'close programs to avoid loss of data'
October 13, 200916 yr I was reading an article on windows 7 and they say on the windows "ultimate" edition it will recognise up to 196gb of RAM p.s May be silly question but that guy does know he has 350 GB HDD not RAM ??? the most i've seen is 12Gb on a 64bit Win 7 machine, I think that's as high as it goes at the moment. One day I'll have a computer that doesn't say 'close programs to avoid loss of data' what do you run to get that messege??
October 13, 200916 yr Well im sure Dell have fixed the problems with their inspirons by now but i cant forget my first laptop a dell inspiron 5100, used to overheat and switch off at the slightest bit of movement. Come to think of it i went through two new motherboards on that thing, worst laptop in history. The batteries were even called back due to some exploding ! Like i say im sure they've fixed these problems by now, i just thought id share my experience with the inspirons

October 13, 200916 yr Photoshop, DW and firefox is enough to make my pc feel overworked, especially if I've got a couple of large images in photoshop time for a new 1 soon... Best investment I ever made. I haven’t pushed my PC yet or overclocked it but I’m really chuffed. Impressed with the following: • PS • DW • AI • Opera • Firefox (3 screens with about 5 tabs a pop) • Safari • Chrome • IE (have to really grrr) • Notepad ++ • Media player (have to have music in the background) All above and the “system gadget” showed it was running at around 33% for the CPU’s and 44% of the memory. What did I do without it???
October 13, 200916 yr All above and the “system gadget” showed it was running at around 33% for the CPU’s and 44% of the memory. that's awesome, what make is it?
October 14, 200916 yr that's awesome, what make is it? Bit of everything - self build lot cheaper, best bit (and most useful for development and code) are the dual 22" full HD screens mmmmmm
