April 13, 20206 yr Do you need to know Microsoft Office (or perhaps G Suite) before applying for a job as a web developer?
April 13, 20206 yr You don't have to but being able to use things like word processor and spreadsheet apps can be useful. I sometimes use spreadsheets for tasks such as creating/editing CSV info for importing data into a CMS, and word processors for writing stuff like project documents. You don't have to use Microsoft or Google products either, there are plenty of alternatives.

May 4, 20206 yr On a serious note, any documentation and so on I write is all done in Markdown so learning that is good, but not expected as a junior looking for their first job. Never had to use any office or related tools in any of my roles as a dev.
