I know, that's what I noticed...

Does anyone here know how to crack the FTP? ;)

JK :pp

the side tabs, whilst similar to Dizi's site, are not the same - they are merely a "design component".

The site is different enough not to be thought of as copying.

It does look like the tab images are taken from Dizi's page, and Ill wager that part of the CSS is ripped off, too - has anyone asked Dizi to take a look?

The CSS is almost 100% identical. i just looked. ( for the nav )

i wont post links to prevent further stealing.

That guy just doesn't want to stop stealing others work! :(

What a weirdo.

The good thing for Dizi is that her design is popular so a lot of folks know where it comes from.

Not that that is the point, the principle of it is completely wrong and I'd be mad if I were Dizi!

They say having your work copied is the biggest compliment, but this is at least the third time now. There comes a point when it goes from a compliment to just bloody annoying!

This "web designer" really needs to get their act together and learn to make their own stuff! *fumes*

It is recognisable as Dizi's. It's sad really, not only for the idiot who obviously has no talent what so ever, and for the poor idiots who buy 'original designs' from him.

Her website was on smashing magazine for inspiration :pp gues some people confused inspiration with copying.

The tabs and the bottom are taken from my site, if you copy one of my tabs, overlay it on top of his and fade between the tab is identical in colour, size and layout, he has just changed the text. I sent a message and he did remove them for a while but then put them back, there isn't really much I can do as he has altered them.

Also...

stevesims[dot]com (don't want to direct link to it)

Anything look familiar? so yes it is someone else's work, I contacted the designer about it last week and informed him of it, got an email back saying that he will sort it out.

I feel so sorry if anyone hires him to do work, I mean he obviously can't design as the stuff that isn't stolen looks awful, and really the stuff he has stolen looks bad too as it is just a mash of other peoples styles that really don't work together. This guy really can't design and I hate that he trying to take credit for others hard work. Why can't he just learn techniques of design and try to do something for himself, if he can't manage it take the hint that he can't design and needs to find a different path in his life!!

Just for those who can't be bothered to open up the css and see the full tab image :pp

I just don't understand the motivation to copy. His page would work with a standard horizontal menu, why can't he make his own? I'm not the worlds greatest designer by a long shot, but the whole point IMO is to do it myself so I get better.

Who is this moron? Dizi, I really feel for you; this must be so frustrating.

I had a spot of bother a few years ago with plagiarism. I was incensed about it as it was the text that was ripped off. Word for Word (most of which wasnt even relevant to the guys site at all - loser!) In some ways that feels even worse to me than taking someone's design elements, although of course I don't condone that either.

The guy was a youngster, 16 or 17 years old, still at school, etc and because of that I eventually mellowed about it, but not without a strongly worded solicitors letter!

I wouldn't be bothered if it was just those design elements he stolen, as it is not that big of a deal and it happens all the time. People get inspired and use an idea to help form their design.

The reason that I am angry with him is because jingle designs started out as a direct clone of dizi designs. He stole my site design, layout, all the text and ALL the work from my portfolio (websites, flash files, videos) and was claiming he had done them. It was a perfect clone of my site with the odd word changed to his name or site...so I think stealing every single thing from my site and saying he did it was far worse then taking just one element from a site, be it design or text, as these elements could easily be changed, but my entire portfolio of work had taken me years to put together.

Now that he has stolen some design elements and a lot of text from another site it just shows that he isn't able to do anything himself! So what is worst of all in my view is even after being caught out stealing everything from me, he decided that it is still fine to steal from me and also from someone else.

Dizi call 0871 641 21 21

which is the number for 1and1 - his hosts

His site is on ns59 and ns60 - inform them that if they continue to allow him to host your intellectual property you will proceed with legal action against both him and them.

Works a charm, someone did it to me once and my entire reseller account was deactivated - needless to say it wasnt me who was infringing any copyrights or stealing work, so I got it reactivated in a matter of hours.

Thanks for the link to the thread, I was unaware that this was an ongoing issue that had a history as sordid as you have so eloquently portrayed above. I'll never forget the feeling you get when you first see that someone has ripped you off. Its a terrible feeling and for you must have been even worse, so I can see why you are extremely angry. Forgive me if my post above sounded like I was making light of the situation, I was unaware of this person's previous misdemeanours!

No I didn't think you were making light of it at all, I just thought that you might not have seen the whole story, so thought I would explain it a little better. Seeing a thread that just says look this site has stolen 'dizi's tabs' and has slightly the same layout doesn't mean much to a lot of people, so I can see why it wouldn't be seen as a big deal, it only being a couple of graphics :D

As for my reference to design and text, I just meant my text on the site, people can steal that if they want. I think that text is more important to a site then a couple of buttons, and I know people take pride and a long time in writing content , but mine is really bad and is going to be changed with the new update to my site...coming July 2008 (I hope). So I wasn't making light of your situation either as no one should steal others hard work!

Also sorry for the long posts, when I am annoyed I just don't know where to stop typing and will go on a bit :pp

EDIT: thanks for the number eggman :) sorry I missed your post before.

Dizi, PLEASE make that phone call! And tell us all how it all pans out.

We might never win the war, but every battle won is worth it!

What an absolute bugger, and by the way, in the other topic you posted an address where he was selling his services in a forum, and Dizi (i believe) said that she wasnt sure if that was the same guy, well just to confirm, later in the topic the username changes from something random to JingleDesigns, so it is him, so I strongly suggest going on there and letting everyone know he's a fraud.

I want to hear how this call goes down !

Exactly Rob. I hate to see what would happen if someone hired him. :o

If he has to rip other people work off, he shouldn't be a "designer"!

don't worry about that post on the other forum, all is being dealt with by me :)

As for the call I will do that a little later on (when I'm not at work :pp), however I don't think I have much to stand on as its not much of a clone now. If I knew I could do that when it was a total copy then I would of....although nothing would stop him signing up somewhere else and a little something inside me likes to know where he is.

Mind you if any of my work appears in his portfolio I will not be kindly asking him to remove it I will take action against him!

Do you want us to spam him? ;) Seriously I'm pissed off too now!

Calum, i think any action should be taken fairly, and I think it's purely Dizi's responsibility to decide what to do.

Want me to put a DDOS Attack on his site? ;):pp

No that's bad etiquette

If he steals any of my work i will sue his ass off , i don't care where he lives.

Of course, that's why I asked first. You could start by at least warning the people on the other forum (link on the previous thread) about him (I'm not going to and I'm not going to get involved). He is over there rabbiting on about all sort of crap (bigging himself up for coding in css while a gaggle of people gather round to slap him on the back). It is all really rather worrying behavior.

I plan on it, but have to wait till I can post on it (the admin has to accept the registration), I have also gone to another web design forum he posts on and said on there too. So I am taking action, I just don't think spamming him that much will achieve anything

Which forums is he on? Maybe we should all post....

I do think if you're charging someone for your services its always best off to start from scratch

From one of his forum posts.

Priceless.

No I don't want us to spam other places just because of what he has done, its not fair on the other members of those places. The members of the other forum have been really helpful about it anyway so all is good :)

I am a member on detailingworld, I may warn people aboiut it will defiently PM the admin about it

Well if I knew that I wouldn't of had to wait all day for my membership accepted so I could post in the thread

I have posted in his thread on there :)

I have a quote from him as well

Very true, but "if your going to do something...." and all that :p

I think the end of it is "...you might as well steal it."

Just read the other thread. Very well handled Dizi.

 Thanks, I don't think getting really angry at this situation will help any.

Hey I found that forum where he was advertsing didnt i ?

Yup, Thanks for that

I can second that Dizi, his site is down - shame really as I wanted to see it for myself having read all this post but on the other hand its a good thing over all that its down (not surprising as its hosted with 1&1). ;)

If you put in jingledesigns.co.uk into google Dizi's post comes up first! not very good for his prospective employers eh?
