March 31, 201412 yr Nah, never to busy to critique someone's work I like it - however, I think the kerning in the text 'Recruitment' is too tight and uneven. Also the strokes are a bit thin at that size for clear reproduction. Perhaps a sans serif font would be more effective? Steve.

April 1, 201412 yr the kerning of the 'ui' is too tight - the t at the end should also line up with the end of the 'R' - you could reduce the font size a touch - half a point just to let it breathe a little and so you have some small space to make those adjustments if you look at the logo as it is on this forum post (i.e. the thumbnail) you'll see the 'recruitment' is a bit too hard to read the font comes with its own kerning attributes but it's your job as a designer to adjust them if and when necessary, to tweak it that bit more to make it function well and look good Edited April 1, 201412 yr by dap
April 1, 201412 yr Author Thanks guys, i've made the adjustments and sent them off for to client, this is very early stages and again, still learning.
April 2, 201412 yr agree on the kerning, perhaps scaling up A&R in proportion would make it possible to spread out the Recruitment
April 4, 201412 yr Author I've tweaked the kerning and made some other variants. Seeing the customer on Tuesday, so will see what happens.

You may have a legitimate reason of course of designing it like that but without knowing what it means and why you have positioned the text the way it is, why you have used those fonts and colours, why the text is that size against each other I am not sure I can really comment on whether it's good or not. Of course it's pleasing to the eye but without meaning a logo means nothing.

As for your other questions: The font - I chose this font because its a modern twist on a typically Serif weighted font. Serif fonts are known to be bold and important like The Times newspaper, even though this font has the serifs (the feet and flicks at the end of the letters) removed, the weight of the letters carries the feeling through. Its a modern twist on something classic bold and important, strong and sturdy. Exactly what people want from an employment company
