I am creating a website for my mother, and seems this is the first time I'm going to be attempting to create a online shop website, I was wondering if any of you could point me in the direction to head.

 

Should I use CMS? or not?

There loads of CMS eCommerce solutions out there, it all depends on your level of ecperiance.

 

The easiest to customize is WooCommerce and there is a nice selection of themes.

 

You could also have a look at shopify, its really easy to setup and they have a good selection of ready made themes.

As per your mother requirement, you have to choose themes. Joomla and OpenCart is best for CMS.

I think you should use WordPress woo-commerce CMS for your online shop. It would be the best thing you should use. Have a look on the internet for woo-commerce website and you will get a bulk list of website that is build on the same platform.
