Web design costs
Completely agree, you may need a 3 page website or 500 page site with all the mod cons, if you were to give a rough idea of what you want I am sure someone could give you an estimate.

is paypal good or not?
I often use Google checkout myself and prefer it, paypal is good though as almost everyone seems to know about it and use it.

BEWARE - Yell.com
Have had a few calls from them actually in the past, found them quite pushy. Has anyone paid for yell.com and found it worth the price?

DMOZ submission
Yea I agree that site really is a strange one to get listed on, sometimes you are accepted other times not.

Is dreamweaver a good place to start learning webdesign?
Agree, using dreamweaver will not really help you to learn how to build websites, start off learning HTML and CSS and then build up into the more advanced topics. You could code using dreamweaver but don't just use for the tools where you click buttons and don't know what the code does.

I agree, although email marketing doesn't work with every product you will sell, making it personal is a very important step.

Instant Update
Hi, I came across Instant Update the other day while looking for a simple CMS for a low budget website, has anyone used this before? Are there any other better options for similar budgets? The CMS will be used on an existing site.

Snowys Web Solutiions
I agree with a lot of the others, I really do not like the colour scheme or the shadow effects. However you say you have asked clients and friends what they thought of it and they say they like it which is great, however you may find that when you ask people who are put on the spot and who are connected to you in some way for a review of your site etc it will usually be more about what you want to hear than what they sometimes actually think. It is therefore best to ask random and impartial people like the guys and girls on this board for a review as they aren't going to care about hurting your feelings. Think you should take a lot of it on board as it is all constructive and honest. Obviously we aren't going to be your target audience so maybe they will feel differently but my knowledge is that professional colours, green, blue etc are usually the best for portraying a professional outfit that you can safely and securely give your money to. I see what you mean about these colours being maybe a little boring and over used so I guess in the end you will just have to weigh up what you feel is best for you. All the best.

My Homepage
It's not a bad effort for a first attempt, obviously you will need more content as content will help your visitors understand what you do and help the search engines rank you better.

Professional web developers
lol those are some pretty awful sites, even back in the day they must have been bad.

column width issue
Difficult to say, best thing to do is just play around with it, it must be something to do with the padding, width etc.

Feedback on website
Not a bad effort, I am not keen though on the red font against the dark grey background on the website section, at the resolution im on it seemed difficult to read.

What do you think of domain name for new site?
The site is ok although it does come across a bit bland, also I am never a fan of having Google ads on your homepage for a site like this.
