  1. I almost finished designing and coding my first website. Got stuck thou at the contact.html page. i want in this page a contact form that can be completed by the website visitors. i attached a image of what i designed and i really need to know how can I code this form in a specific way. My questions are: 1. I want the user to be prompted when one of the fields does not have any information. a pop up or something. how do I do that? 2. I want in the message input box a scroll bar to appear if the message is longer than the actual design dimensions. how do i code this? 3. What am I supposed to do so that the info completed in the form reach it's destination? the destination is me ... can't figure out the process. Is there a e-mail box or something and the data filed in reach this e-mail box? I really need guidance here ... 4. I want to create an e-mail for this website: info@websitename.com. When visitors click this it should open outlook or something so that they can write the e-mail. How do I do that? 10x Atouck
  2. this will help you understand the 960 grid system http://960.gs/
  3. i like the website but the dandelion in the background is pixelated. that's not ok. try using a high quality picture. and the menu in the right side it takes to much to fade out ,sort of speak, into the text that appears afterwards. could be faster ... i also like the header color changes pretty catchy idea good luck with your project.
  4. very good rpg's : Mass Effect / Neverwinter Nights II ... bioware rocks!
  5. it looks very attractive! congrats. i like it's darkness
  6. ok ... first: you should consider another design. this one is not ok. the colors are really not in their place and the background looks totally not professional. second: for css menus check out this website : http://css.maxdesign.com.au/index.htm you should just browse a template website and get some inspiration from there. just remember to keep it simple.
  7. just try to read some of that books and also practice live chat in english with friends. also watch movies in english without subtitles. it worked for me
  8. first you should just start taking pictures. after that you should read about techniques used for catching light better or techniques regarding exposure and other similar stuff. next try to apply what you read. the quality of the photos will improve with the passing of the time and with practice. The final step is to take a photography course if you want to go pro. This kind of classes will teach you great things about photography.
  9. nice art you got there. the website looks ok, maybe just a bit crowded ...

i usually use 3 id's in a web site : the header, the content and the footer. Other elements can be styled using class.
  14. Trebuchet MS is my favorite. Arial and Georgia are the second option. And for illustration experimental FREE fonts I dig up from the World Wide Web
  15. the 3 green is very good looking
  16. impressive portfolio !!! ... just watch the spelling
  17. interesting point. I think that the term "limits" applied to the term "design" is somehow interesting. Design has no limits, coding has, because the design is a product of your imagination and coding is not. Design can go as far as you want. You can design everything you want. When it comes to web design and you must code that wild design nothing is impossible. If html and css can't do it (rare) there will always be flash. I have seen some very good and beautiful flash sites. Design also can be applied to movies or 3d stuff. In my opinion design and coding are pretty different. Thou in web design the things you must have in mind are utility, simplicity, effectiveness and loading times. Of course there are other things as well but the most important thing is to put yourself in the skin of your website visitor and try to make a user friendly experience. Beautiful and simple design arranged brilliantly can take you very far
  18. as I see you didn't create a div that includes the other divs. you should do that for example div id="container" in html and in css margin:0 auto for this div try for body text-align:center
  19. the design is very impressive. I really like this website
