  1. I like the changing header for your different sections but I don't think the initial (HP) image is that great, maybe mix it up with one of the more interesting ones. Overall the site design is OK, i like the tabbed boxes inside each section but some of the fonts on the blog section are a bit too chunky for my liking.
  2. In general I liek the site, I do like the bubble effect and I don't have any problems with the colour scheme, the two things I would recommend addressing are; Logo: I agree with everyone that mentioned it that it is not quite perfect, maybe try again from scratch but tone it down? Borders: are too thick, makes it look template driven and a bit cheap, thin them down a bit
  3. I like the idea behind the design of the site but there is something I can't put my finger on that puts me off a bit, maybe its the box borders i'm not sure. Maybe try experimenting with some different borders and spacing to see what effects you can achieve?
  4. I like the idea of the site and the design does look great but I agree that its very busy, I spose it just has to be though. Colour scheme is really nice too.
  5. I like your old and new designs and both have merits I think you maybe need to play with the positioning of the images a bit. Colour schemes are really nice though
  6. I kind of like the design but I think you need to fill in the empty squares with something even if its just a few concepts and logo designs otherwise the sites looks too plain.
  7. Really, really nice design but also support the advice about entry pages. Colours are great and i'm sure the shop will look great once you have applied more work to it like the front page.
  8. Thanks for the link on this, totally agree with skateside, waste of time ruling that basically should have 1 page saying, "make sure sites validate"
  9. I really like it, I agree that the homepage needs a bit more to it but its a nice idea to build on.
  10. Agree with most comments that your site is very nice, I like the choice of colours and fonts and the only thing I could even suggest as a change is the "logos photo" I just don't like it, nothing specific but it seems a little unrelated and out of place with the abstract-ish stuff in other buttons.
  11. I actually like the colour scheme but don't like the horizontal lines, have you tried them diagonal instead? Menu is quite nice, font is nice and the logo is ok too although a little mismatched with the rest of the colours. Generally a very solid start I would just look at that background.
  12. I just got it in FF3, ok design but needs work because of colours contrasting and typography, I would definately look at the typography and consider something not red for the second site colour. Base design is ok though.
  13. Nice design but its a bit web 2.0 but I assume that's what you want so... I like the 1..2..3.. icons they are cool.
  14. I really like it, partitially agree a strong highlight colour is need and I think the sample website should be one thats not the same colour, clients may feel you are a little one track and you have some really nice other sites in your portfolio
  15. I use two 22" Samsung Pebbles in 1680 x 1050 pixels. They are great monitors but you to turn dynamic contrast settings off
  16. I like the revision more, generally its quite good, colour scheme is definately nice. One thing I would say is that "glow" behind the text block at the top ahs to go, looks too cheesy fort your site and maybe the menu buttons need to be a bit squarer, they clash with the squaqreness of other buttons.
  17. It looks pretty good, I like the style you have gone with and the footer looks really cool. If I had to critisise anything it would be the header/logo bit, I think its a bit too messy. Also like the movie poster thing you did (in the contents) looks ace.
  18. Although I also dislike the general overuse of Flash I have to say the site is really impressive, it doesn't even load too slowly. The coloured nav thing is really nice too.
  19. For a social networking site the front page is actually quite nice with the exception of the yellow burst cloud on the left, seriously remove that as it cheapens the entire design.
  20. I like the general design of the site but I think your portfolio is a bit lacking, it's difficult to see the design work you have done inside those little windows. [edit] I also noticed the fading in/out text is sometimes causing text to almost disappear, bad for SEO and usability, maybe let it fade into a slightly more distinct colour?
  21. Yeah the header is definitely still too big, the space between the logo and the header bottom on the left is way too much. If you really need the house thing there I either make it smaller or let it flow over onto the site navigation.
  22. I like the basic design but I don't like the combo of grey and red. Maybe it is because of the tone of the red i'm not sure I just don't feel it. Also Thomas Hardy? Didn't you have another job?
  23. I like it too and I see a lot of wordpress themes. My only comment would be that by default I think the text is a little too big forcing scroll when it's not needed. Header and nav is really nice though and so is the subtle color scheme.
  24. Yeah that's an awesome effort, well done dude.
  25. I wish them luck but realistically I don't think they will complete with Google. It is very unfortunate that the climate is like that but thats business!
