For someone who does not know web design - talking about "no follow" and "making a contextual link" are pretty advanced.... not adding up Maybe I am paranoid...

im not a wordpress guru, but surely this is just assigning cstegories or tags to certain posts and creating menus that display those categories.

Hi, you dont have to have autorefresh, I dont believe your example page is doing that either All they are doing is editing an article in word press and adding a few lines at the top and saving (or at the bottom and saving) \EASY/ So all you do is create a nice page in wordpress and keep editing(and saving) it every few minutes (as admin).

I use a CMS most of the time as there are thousands of plugins. unfortunately no matter what, you will need to know html and probably a bit more. I choose joomla some years ago and stuck with it as the learning curve is large and now am into bespoke stuff on there. I do use wordpress now and again. I think for flexible design - a pure html site is easier to set up. As a developer its nice to grab a professional CMS template with a client and then modify it to their needs

Brochure websites will all go the way of self edit. At some point html, seo etc will be abstracted away and all a company will have to do is put in some design and copy. The trickier stuff will obviously always be the domain of a designer and a developer and luckily as technology keeps advancing there will always be some need for our skills - if we stay relevant. You guys who think 101 is ****e should realize its only the beginning.. And while im on the rant We should not be adapting our sites to search engines, they should be adapting to our sites, no matter what tech we use...

They probably have a bunch of web designers and developers who have created the application you use to create the websites. Its not simple by a long shot.

you have to put in what you are doing currently. you are far to nioe, your present employer should not at any time know your leaving. Its poor show to get a refernece off your current employer. end of! If you can't get another job, where does that leave you? sitting with an employer who thinks you might leave anytime - so they stop giving you good stuff to work on, major projects, stop building on you. ge a job then tell them then leave

i think there are some differences - just jump to joomla.org and search around there - loads of tutorials for upgrading

the text is partially unreadable? good start, has some content and tricks, but says "no polish" to me keep going at least your original. I would just go bastardzier a temnplate myself, but I am more of a we developer

about two years ago I did a thorough evaluation of joomla, wordpress and drupal - as they were the frontrunners. (I needed to choose a cms to use) Joomla came out on top - wordpress was too simple. Joomla topped out Drupal - cant remember why now. From what I hear on the grapevine wordpress has developed a lot, but then so has joomla. I cant be an expert to all three so am just sticking to joomla and am almost at the point of making my components for it. (just need the right moment to arrive (time)) II have used wordpress once for a websites blog, but I had to build it into a static site so its a bit bastardized. I am developer so a cms with theme's is great for me. Client gets to choose from thousands of themes which I then customize as needed. No sweating on my side as to whether the theme is what he wants or if ther will be redos etc, I apologize to the designers here as obviously you make your living out of design. Its just not feasible to me. It also saves the client a full design fee. (thats the point)

googles perspective.... for each page on your website... I am google, I index all the words on your page, I even index all the phrases. I link these words and phrases up and map them against your pages address. I come through your site at least daily. I make a record and date stamp all your changes. I also do this for all the other sites in your area and well the whole world. I notice that there are xxxx amount of sites like yours promoting similiar stuff. I try to figure out the theme of your site (in words) so I just basically count all the words and see what word and phrases are repeated...That must be it!! if repeated too much then you are trying to trick me - I might penalize you. I try and use html top figure out wjhat your headings are (gives me a clue right, helps me index better) Hm I also notice you only have 1500 words on your site, not much to go on. Your site may or may not fully describe your services, well I can only remember what you put there...if its not there I cant recall you! Wow I also notice there are hundreds of sites pointing links back to your site, wow, you're listed in directorie and also people have written about your services on other sites. Gee you even managed to get a mention on the first page of your lcoal newspaper Excellent you must be important, I note this. Your mentioned in Forums. You even have people in social websites linking to you wow all those people in twitter linked to you, you defintely must be a goopd website. I will make you more important. But wait, there are 9000 links to your site with the same keyrord string - aaahh your trying to trick me- i'll penalize you Mr. I also notice all your similiarly themed competitor websites have just as many words and links, hmm how to decide whos the best... whos oldest (upgrade), ahh I see you have copied some text over there, downgrade! so you see google has a hard job and yours is pitted against your competitors. Make as much contnent as you can on your site. Make it pretty and nice for clients that do arrive. Get a lot of varying, respected links to your site on your keywords phrases you want to be searched on. < ---- KEY +1 +1 +!

its actually really easy as you can set all those things on any email software. you can normally view an emails routing details if you want to see the actual route it took

This really depends on what you want to do. more detail ansd you will get a real answer... estate agent site has many conponents - design - backend site - front end site - database - and a wole LOT of functionality inbetween.
