  5. Hi, I am currently building a hobby site that is of a medium size, I have started using static pages and am not sure if I should use a CMS to make the site a little more future proof!. I want the site to grow in the future and enable users to leave feedback submit articles, maybe a forum? etc. I have built sites with a small CMS like perch and found it works well, but not any big CMS like Wordpress. After having a look at the three big CMS I have installed Drupal and just had a play. What I wanted some advice if this is the correct way to go, if I am to learn a CMS I want to make sure that going to be beneficial and not overkill over complicating the site Any advice would be very grateful Thank you!
  6. Hi all, Never made a form before and just got a basic form working with formmail free php code. My question is what do I need to be aware of? I'm worried about spam and security but don't know where to start with this. It's only for a basic static site with a cms. Many thanks!
  7. Hi, I have been reading this forum and learning web design for about two years. What I want to achieve is to make good profesional websites. I do not want to get a job but would eventually like to start a small business when I'm ready. But the more I discover the less simple it appears! Can one person do it all? Can I design, develop, Seo , host , etc etc. Can I do it well? Are the days of a one man show in the past or is this still something people do? I just get the impression everyone specialises ? Hope I can get some advice from u guys as it's a steep hill to climb trying to learn everything! Thanks

I went through this with a friend insisting on having music! I ended up linking a speaker image that opened a new browser window with a player in. This was the only way I could think of having the player not load everytime the page reloads. The user also has full control.

  11. Hi, Does anyone know what the best cms would be to add to an already finished HTML CSS site? Just needed for changing content text and pics. Is it possible to add a cms with out some sort of re-coding? Thanks
  12. Would HTML, CSS and php be enough to use wordpress design from scratch?
  13. No I do not want to rip any one off, I'm just learning how everything works and wanted to know if this is how people operate. Not a very satisfying way to work either, using themes!
