    WebSetGo reacted to Dcruize in Have you used CSS like this before?
    The > indicates that there should only be a match when an element is the direct child of another element. It might be easier to explain the differences with a bit of code.

    <body> <div> <div> <p>Hello</p> </div> </div> </body>
    Here are four different lines of CSS and how they affect the output;

    body > div > p { color: red;} = Hello (no match, color not applied)
    body div p { color: red;} = Hello (it matches regardless of the second div before the p)
    body div div p {color: red;} = Hello
    body > div > div > p {color: red;} = Hello

    Have a look at seed values for rand() - http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/4.1/en/mathematical-functions.html#function_rand

    You could just generate a random seed value for each visitor, store it in a session and then use it for the rand() query.

    do u know html css properly ?
    do you have knowledge of php mysql (basic at least)?
    to build e commerce site from scratch u need in depth knowledge of both
    However if u think of modifying a existing e commerce software there are loads out there

    have a look here

    you can play around with those
    but again u need to have solid knowledge of html css atleast and some basic php mysql

    The links on the site are picking up the nav styling because targeted links of any type, anywhere. If you look at your css the definition to give the links style is just "a:link, a:visited". If you want them to only be styled in the side nav then you need to target that like this "#navigation a:link, #navigation a:visited" etc. It will only style links contained inside the element with id "navigation" then

    hope that helps

    1. Define your navigation as a WP3 custom menu. That makes adding pages opt-in.

    2. Where's it adding spans?

    3. How d'you mean? You can add internal links in the WYSIWYG dialogue as of WP3, not sure if it's persistent through a change of permalink structure though.

    4. functions.php:

    function yourtheme_widgets_init() { register_sidebar( array( 'name' => __('Primary Widget Area', 'yourtheme'), 'id' => 'primary-widget-area', 'description' => __('The primary widget area', 'yourtheme'), 'before_widget' => '<li id="%1$s" class="widget-container %2$s">', 'after_widget' => '</li>', 'before_title' => '<h3 class="widget-title">', 'after_title' => '</h3>', ) ); // Repeat the above for each widget area } add_action('widgets_init', 'yourtheme_widgets_init');

    In your template:

    <ul class="xoxo"> <?php if(!dynamic_sidebar('primary-widget-area')) : ?> <!-- Default content for when no widgets are found in the sidebar goes here --> <?php endif; ?> </ul>

    For some reason it doesn't like recursively increasing the counter variable like that. Not sure why though, global Javascript variables aren't really my strong point.

    Try removing the window.counter variable and using the function's index instead (The +1 is because the index starts on 0):

    $("#tl_loader").load("/techlib/wait.php", function (index) { $("#tl_percent").html("done " + (index + 1) + "jobs out of " + window.numjobs); });
    Or maybe just replace:

    window.counter = window.counter + 1;

    With:

    window.counter++;

    To add AJAX to links you've added to the page via another AJAX request, look at jQuery's .live() function.

    If you want the links to show the same background as when they are "rolled-over" then add and ID to the body tag for each page (i.e homePage, servicesPage etc) and then add an ID to each of the navigation links (i.e homePageLink, servicesPageLink etc) then use CSS to apply the background colour.

    For example:
    Add this to your homepage body tag.

    <body id="homePage">
    Change the tag for each page though so on the services page you'd make it

    <body id="servicesPage">

    Then add to the tags in the navigation

    <li id="homePageLink"><a href="index.html">About Us</a></li> <li id="servicesPageLink><a" href="Our_Services.html">Our Services</a></li> <li id="clientPageLink"><a href="Our_Clients.html">Our Clients</a></li> <li id="linksPageLink"><a href="Useful_Links.html">Useful LInks</a></li> <li id="offeredPageLink"><a href="Offered_Sites.html">Offered Sites</a></li> <li id="contactPageLink"><a href="Contact_Us.html">Contact Us</a></li>

    Then add the following to the CSS

    #homePage #homePageLink a:link, #homePage #homePageLink a:visited, #servicesPage #servicesPageLink a:link, #servicesPage #servicesPageLink a:visited { background: #C50070;}

    Just make sure that you add all the IDs for each navigation link to the above rule.

    For something like that you might be better off with javascript. I know it has the whole "what if its disabled" thing but to be fair so does css, and this method only works in webkit anyway. http://nakajima.github.com/jquery-glow/

    Run them all off one instance using WP Multisite. You can network activate the plugins, and there's a plugin (I think it was called New Blog Defaults) that lets you dictate default settings for new sites on the network.

    You'll also have the benefit of only having to keep one install up to date.
