Agree with all above. The reason I used them was A. Its not for commercial use & they were cheap as chips B. they had actually been recommended on another forum (by an established member) for the price & amazingly the service (again at the time it was cheap as chips.) Rallport - As per the thread the TOS (section 6) was amended after I requested to cancel, hence the whole issue

100% agree, you pau for what you get! I would never use a host like this for a commercial venture, this was solely a development type scenario where I was being badgered by friends & colleagues for some websites/space, so I setup this so they could manage it all without my help. Worked fine in my situation for years, grew tired of it after a while so wanted to get out. The only issue has been re the refunds really.

Hi all, Sorry been busy for the past week. Still not been resolved. Some of the monies has been 'refunded' but as mentioned above this was paid with a card in another country that has long been closed. A point I raised on the very first contact with the host. Still trying to resolve this all. The company is webhost.uk.net Its unfortunate, I was with them for 4 or so years, without hassle, not that I ever had great use of anything. Will keep updated over the next few weeks.

Hi All, In my original invoice, it specifies Re WHMCS there was an announcment Included in certain reseller packages. Surely for that to be taken away from a refund it would have to be specified in the Invoice? Because my reading of invoice is that if something is offered as part of a package then the price of which is included in the package, not an addon.

Finally, I seem to be getting somewhere, they acknowledge that I am due a refund. However, there are issue re the refund amount and means of refund. I paid using a bank account in another country that since has been closed, are a company only obliged to make a refund to that card only? If so how do I go about resolving this issue. Also the are charging me a WHMCS licence usage? & for a fixed IP? Both totalling almost £100. Thanks for all the comments thus far

I may have misunderstood your post & what you are actually looking for but would a version control system be something that would be of use? Host a repository somewhere like bitbucket/github and then push and pull requests/ create branches/ merge to trunk etc, you can each work on the same code which will not be overwritten. If you google git you can see some of the benefits, there are command line & GUI versions. If I have misunderstood your post & you want more of a collaboration then check out confluence, but that is a paid tool.

Hey, thanks for the reply, although I believe you didnt understand my post. Perhaps I did not explain my situation clearly. I am only a few months into a 24 month offer, at the end of which there is an additional 24 free. I'm not suggesting that I should get a refund on domain name or SSL or the 'free' 24 months. My issue lies solely in the fact that when I signed up it was explicitly stated, one could receive a refund whilst still in the original paid billing cycle i.e. within the original 24 month billing cycle. I find it incomprehensible that I can apply for a refund as per the TOS, be told that my request is being processed & then over a week later told that it is not within the TOS which have been updated. As stated a host can change their TOS anytime but in my scenario the TOS was changed days after my request & that I am being beaten with that stick now. If I applied for the refund AFTER the TOS was changed, I really would not have a leg to stand on, but when I applied I could correctly apply as per their TOS at the time & the fact that it was explicitly stated during signup that one could apply for a refund of unused months during the billing cycle. As a hosting provider how is it ethical that a company uses advertising to get people to signup to a service, include an opt out clause & then shortly after change their TOS to remove such opt out clause & thus tying people into 4-6 YEARS of service?

Hi Folks, been awhile. I started this thread as I am having a few issues with mu Host (who I will not name at this point). After having a hosting account with them I signed up to a reseller hosting account (24 months get 24 free) which explicitly stated in the direct email that Anyways to cut a long story short, I moved country & no longer needed UK Web Hosting, so I requested to cancel my account. Please note that this was on 29/07/13. An almost instant email back Then nothing for over a week when I got a further email stating as per their TOS. The TOS was updated on 31/07/2013, 2 days after my request and 2 days after the quote above 'processing' the cancellation. Has anyone here been in a similar situation and furthermore is there anywhere I can report the company to?

Hi Folks, Been a while? 2 questions. Is there any usefult reservation software/appointment setters (open source) that anyone here can recommend? What we have is the need for an appointment setter for 4 people for 1 week in 10 minute slots...I know not asking for much eh ..which doesnt allow double booking. Example, if Client A wants to meet with Supplier B, then Client A can book a time with Supplier B for 09.00-09.10 but then is blocked from booking with Supplier C,D&E for the same time.. Also. is there any script that will create a nesed HTML sitemap or a 2000+ page website? ( Rather than me manually doing it, this is more kist laziness) Thanks for any answers

Well mate, you will have to choose one yourself & then ask questions based on that, noone here is going to actually do the site for you . Regardless of what your choose you will have a base website with header,content,footer, etc. Have a look at http://html5boilerplate.com/. Both need to be located so a google map integration will be required. Looks like integration with Social Media will be required for both too. I dont really know what you want people here to do for you
