  1. Are there themes available with plenty of backend features preinstalled such as sliders etc... and ability to just upload a logo/custom css I need to convert a static website to wordpress and it would be easier just to add some images to an already set up theme.
  2. I am wondering if maybe woocommerce plugin would work, and just remove any buy now buttons and account links?
  3. Thanks for the reply. Do you have an online example of where it's being used? admittedly, i'm a bit confused by the whole "use a custom post type and custom taxonomy" idea. What i was thinking was have a custom post template and just have the post come under Product -> Category -> Sub-Category But somehow have these category pages customised? Or does that sound like nonsense?
  4. Hi there, I was looking to do a site using Wordpress as it would be a lot easier than updating content manually. Basically what i will have is outlined in a mock up below, it's almost like a shop but will simply be used to display rather than have any shop functionality; for now anyway. Is there an easier, neater, more organised way of doing this instead of simply creating page after page for each category and sub category and also product, as the number of pages in the list will end up being huge. Just wanted to see if there was perhaps a simple way of adding all these? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. Please see attached image. Thanks
  5. The idea of that page was to look more like a business template so it could be used for something other than hosting. I've taken your other points on board though, as with everyone else's. I'll work on these changes and report back
  6. Easy enough to re-style it into a business template then, can always keep the pricing table if needed. It was the page here: http://www.designerhost.co.uk/hosting4/index.html that I was really looking for opinions on layout, especially the sidebar, what to do with it. Make it into an ordinary business homepage. Maybe you could advise?

  9. I'll work on that, maybe making the text darker. I didn't really like the use of a border round the submenu so i'll maybe experiment with changing them to the orange used on other parts of the site. All gradients on the site are css, which seems to result in a horrible validation page. Yeah, I will be changing that. http://www.designerhost.co.uk/hosting4/hosting4plans.html ? I didn't think there was a great deal on it, just a banner, plans and services area. The text colour on hover, or the background gradient?
  10. Hi, This is a work in progress so is not the finished article. NB. I haven't tested it on any other browser other than Chrome at the moment, so no doubt there will be issues with I.E. I was wondering if someone could maybe give me a hand, another set of eyes might point me in the right direction as i'm just wondering where to go next! Hosting Index Template: http://www.designerhost.co.uk/hosting4/index-hosting.html Normal Page Template: http://www.designerhost.co.uk/hosting4/index.html Plans Template: http://www.designerhost.co.uk/hosting4/hosting4plans.html It makes use of Jquery with: Font Replacement (maybe going to change this from cufon and use @font-face) Menu Animation Banner Slider And also has an ajax domain checking script that checks the availability. Any words and critique appreciated.
  11. Hi there, First post! I've been a designer for a number of years so thought it was about time I joined one of these type of sites. I'm just looking for a bit of advice from others with regards to sprucing up bland content, what are your tips & tricks? The page in question is: http://tinyurl.com/682vqsp Interested to hear your thoughts! Matt
