  1. Never heard of it but why not give it a go? Other than that if you're using a CMS use it's built in contact form, or if you want to store data in your CMS then collect entries from visitors via a front end submission form.
  2. https://www.ekm.com/ is worth a look: - UK based - "evolution mode", their experts help improve and optimise your site
  3. Yes if your site sets any cookies that collect any personal info, for advertising, analytics, or 3rd party content (social media, Youtube videos) then you'll need to assess them individually and offer customers a method to opt in to those cookies being set.
  4. I find the contents of the RSS feed rather amusing
  5. There are plenty of ready made booking scripts around, here's a few: https://www.phpjabbers.com/php-booking-scripts https://www.iscripts.com/reservelogic/ https://www.inkthemes.com/market/hotel-booking-php-script/ https://easyappointments.org/
  6. Stand by for an affiliate link drop for an animation app
  7. Oh dear, seems Large Globes are spamming - I just received your automated spam via a contact form on a site I manage.
  8. That's an interesting twist in the tale, keep us posted!
  9. What? You should use Powerpoint, it's got loads of clipart
  10. Are you running a pay site that runs an affiliate scheme for webmaster referrals? Or are you running an affiliate site that promotes numerous pay sites?
  11. Welcome to the forums. I'm no WP expert but there are some forum members who should be able to help when they come online. In the meantime do you see any error messages? If so post them here, they may help.
  12. You can if you need to: <div class="main-wrapper"> <main class="main"> ...content </main> </div>
  13. Welcome to the forums Well it looks like a generic agency site, what sets you apart from the crowd? I'm confused, you offer SEO services, isn't that something you should know? You have a few accessibility issues, missing form labels, a few empty links, and some low contrast warnings to name a few. Finally, you seem to be leaking data to Facebook and "Elfsight" without asking for consent.
  14. Here's a few more suggestions... 1. Filezilla - I've used it for 16+ years, wouldn't be without it - make sure you download from the official site https://filezilla-project.org/ as there are some dodgy copies floating around on "download" sites, 2. Sublime text, Atom or VS code - take your pick 3. a few more options, both excellent all round photo editors: - https://www.pixelmator.com/mac/ is worth a look if you don't mind spending $30 or just use the trial version - https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/photo/ currently on sale for £23.99 or use the trial version - http://x.photoscape.org/ free, not tested it yet but looks promising
  15. Yeh CDN's can be hit and miss. One fairly large ecommerce site I worked on used a CDN for serving static assets but suffered from poor page load times. As a test we switched from a CDN to serving assets from the same server and that gave us an impressive 25% improvement in page load times. So I'd say experiment, try serving assets locally then test a couple of CDN's to see what works best.
  16. There's no "best" but https://geodesicsolutions.com/ have been around for decades and their classifieds platform is really solid and fully featured. I used their scripts a few times and was pretty impressed, plus their support was excellent.
  17. Yeh it's probably unlikely that the ICO would chase smaller sites, they're more likely to go after the big players. That said if they do pick on you...
  18. You don't have to but being able to use things like word processor and spreadsheet apps can be useful. I sometimes use spreadsheets for tasks such as creating/editing CSV info for importing data into a CMS, and word processors for writing stuff like project documents. You don't have to use Microsoft or Google products either, there are plenty of alternatives.
  19. The ICO has stated that consent is required if you run analytics because they are not "strictly necessary". See "Are analytics cookies exempt?" at https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/guide-to-pecr/guidance-on-the-use-of-cookies-and-similar-technologies/how-do-we-comply-with-the-cookie-rules/
  20. That's a hard one to answer. I've got clients that have been with me for 15+ years, some 10+ years. Some clients move on after a few years, often if they close their site or business. Some clients simply move to different developer after a year or two, some come back when the move wasn't successful.
  21. Yes broadly agree with that, it's something the OP will have to assess whether their customers might need different shipping address(es).
  22. Works here as well. Has your client called up the site before you added the background image? Might be their browser cache.
  23. Good idea - you could do this with a no payment checkout: - customer selects items they want then "adds to cart" - customer then "checks out", if you have the customers delivery address (presumably gathered as part of account creation process) it could be whittled down to a simple order review page and a way to submit the order so it's easy and quick to complete - orders are then stored in the DB so customers can see items they have previously selected - admin has a record of what books each customer wants each month
  24. Welcome to the forums. I don't use WP but I'm sure the WP experts will give you an opinion soon. I have built similar sites using ExpressionEngine so all the stuff you're looking for is possible.
  25. I've been working from home for more than 15 years. I use several tools every day, email, Skype (my clients prefer Skype), Slack for web dev stuff, and apps like Basecamp or Trello . Sometimes use the phone but not often
