Featured Replies

Hi all, Im looking for a little advice.

What is a good choice for a easy to use eCommerce platforms for starting a new business.
Ive been considering both Wordpress and opencart.

Background - My mother wants to start a clothing business, she had a small successful business some years ago but she had to close due to health issues, now she wants to do it again, my suggestion was start online first to see how it goes.

What would be the best platform to start with ?

requirements
Simple easy to use, so my mum can input the products and details.
The average person should be able to use it without issues.
Good SEO
Need to be able to grow with us.
SEMrush

Any other advice is welcome

In your case use Shopify.  If you grow then hire a professional to build a new one (anything under £20k and you'll be getting garbage)

The only problem with Shopify is the good SEO.

An out the box install has poor SEO. You need to do a lot of work to tick all Google’s boxes.

An ecommerce platform is a software application that allows online businesses to manage their website, marketing, sales and operations.

In my opinion, WordPress would be best for you as it requires no prior knowledge of coding skills. Opencart can help you if you have a bit of coding skill knowledge. WordPress is a very user-friendly easy to use platform. You can also try out Amazon which is a great user friendly platform to sell products.
