  1. I just installed android on my HD2 today and i am very impressed, it hasn't got all the functions i don't think but it is pretty amazing, so much better than windows mobile!
  2. Think i may just have to buy that from your recommendation!
  3. I really like the site and agree with the comments above, only downside for me is the testimonials on the right side, not sure if its because im tired or what, but personally i think the text is a little hard to read, might just be the size, not sure. Other than that i am very impressed!
  4. I like it alot, only thing that looks a bit weird to me personally is the social media icons, to me they look like they are all over the place if you get what i mean, they don't look in a straight line.
  5. I would disagree, it is still professional just a bit more anonymous!
  6. I was pretty sure you could use a PO box as a registered address, im sure the company i was working with used one?
  7. Register a PO Box and register the business to that or use your home address.
  8. Just to throw another one into the mix but microsoft visual studio is also a good one!
  9. I don't think its too bad but i HATE the navigation its horrid in my opinion!
  10. LMAO! Please send that email to them and show us the response!!
  11. I think it is hard to give a complete feedback on just a design as i can't interact with the site, i wasn't saying that i don't like it because i do. I think what my problem is that i have looked at your briefs4briefs site and that was excellent, and then i am kind of comparing this design to that and it's not coming across as good as that yet. One thing you could try is giving your logo/header some life into it, it is the first thing that people will be likely to look at and it looks a bit too simple! I really do hope this is helping you by the way!
  12. I did not mean that you had not put any detail into the site when i said basic, i just meant that it looks flat and not very interesting to look at. It does not have anything special or unique about it to make it stand out over your competitors. I wouldn't say it needs to be splashed in colour or random shizzle scattered over the page, it just needs some kind of wow factor, whether it be in the design or the coding.
  13. I do like it, but its very basic looking in my opinion. It also has very little personal touch, i still think you should bring in the magician side of yourself, just not in the way you did previously!
  14. Ow my eyes hurt! I do have to say that is very ermm...interesting?
  15. I agree with andyl, the design isn't too bad but that animation is horrible, the second line of animated text does not even go up to the same height as the first line and it is really obvious!
  16. It is doing the same to me in chrome, showing the mobile version.
  17. I Like it, however i have to agree with welshhuw about the logo, i personally don't like it, you could make it stand out more and make it be a focus point of the page. Im also not keen on the RSS feed, Twitter and Facebook buttons, they look a bit to basic to me! Other than that i like it quite a bit, i am actually reading some of the posts now!
  18. If i understand what you are on about when you say nudging the footer, it isn't really noticeable in my opinion, it doesn't spoil it.
  19. I personally quite like it!
  20. Also if you haven't already registered as self employed but have been trading for over 3 months, id advise to be sneaky and not tell them, say your either starting fresh or have been trading already for one month, you can get hit with a £100+ bill otherwise!
  21. I think the problem with the car is that they are hidden away and just sort of a background image, if you were to incorporate cards into the design and maybe have cards at the top in the header somehow with what your planning to accomplish when sending them to the PR firms etc it would look better and more people would understand. One problem i have is that your wanting to go fully freelance, however your cutting out a big chunk of the market by making it so the general public won't understand exactly what the site is about, you need to make it user friendly and understandable on both sides. Other than that i personally like the design, however there will be a lot of white space, i just think comparing it to the pants site, you could give it a big wow factor if you put your mind and your personality into it!
  22. Britzin is actually wrong about not having to register if your a sole trader, you still have to declare it and you have to set up your NI and your tax returns each year. The best thing to do is either look at that business link website or to give them a ring and they will explain everything you need to know about going self employed, although you might of already done everything i have just said. I would not recommend becoming a LTD though as it is a pain in the arse and you have to pay corporation tax. I would strongly recommend staying as a sole trader.
  23. You could really expand on the magician idea, i had no idea you were serious on your site when you said you were a magician! How about a magician illustration with some sort of web designer/development theme mixed into it? That would be way better than those cards in my opinion, it would be very visually appealing, it would also give you a bit of a wow factor, however it might take away the simple modern look.
  24. I do like the design, however i really hate those cards at the top, they spoil it for me personally, id also like to see more wow factor, especially in the logo.
  25. If your going to want continuous work from the person a good way to go about it is say to him your normal rate is x amount but as this is your first job for him you will give me a discount and do it for y amount, however your actual rate is y amount so your not losing out on anything, you are showing that your giving him some sort of discount and you can always up your hourly rate easily, that is what i usually do with my callouts.
