Looking for Web Partner
There's nothing like a heated debate on a cold December day ..... But increasingly posters to these type of threads seem to compete to post the most cutting, rude replies. You may not like the OP's offer ...... OK don't reply, but he has been open and honest with what's on offer, and extremely tollerant of the rude replies. I suspect he may be put off from posting here in the future.

I get pretty hacked off with people who use the introduction section to blatently promote their web design business. Web design is what most of us do.

Hello Travelfreak. I'm sure you know this. When you get replies from members examine their posting history and site reputation. This will help sort out those who are genuine candidates as opposed the the lurking chancers.

Why is it that
Posts asking for freebies should be treated as SPAM ... they are an insult. Those offering to work for free should be considered with caution. If they need to advertise their services for free here then it doesn't say much for their local marketing ability.

photoshop bleeding
As it's a one page flyer you need to add 3mm to all sides so you need to increase both width and height by 6mm. Edited: remember everything in the bleed area will be trimmed so make sure that nothing overlaps there that you need in the main body.

photoshop bleeding
increase the image size, i'm still using cs2/3, they don't have special bleed settings so to include bleed area the image has to be sized accordingly.

Any Brochure Designers here?
I use Adobe InDesign which is an excellent product and widely used. Timescales, once familier with the software, can be quite fast but it really depends on the content of the brochure. All pics used should be min 300dpi for professional printing and converted to CMYK as should all the color pallets used. Most printers accept the final product exported as PDF (using printers instructions), don't forget about bleed areas etc. The best thing to do would be find a helpful local printer and discuss with them how they would like the brochure presented.

photoshop bleeding
You need to add a few millimetres (eg 3mm) to all the outside edges. This area will be trimmed off by the printer. Extend any background colour or pictures into these areas so that when trimming takes place the colour will flow to the edge of the trimmed paper.

Domain and Website Ownership
A timely warning to the many chancers on here trying to get websites done on the cheap. If you value your business, new or otherwise, choose a reputable designer/developer and expect to pay the going rate. Choosing an enthususiastic teenager will probably lead to disappointment and worse, possible damage to your fledgling business. Rant over!

Adding content for the client.
You could fix the site so that it is usable on his PC (this I would do for free if possible). Definately charge if he wants you to load the articles ... charge by the hour with a minimum charge. Monthly fee would be even better.
