A friend asked me to do a straight forward web site for his business.

The number one problem is that it is a site for a photographer and the imagery is dreadfull.

 

This is not directed at the photographer but the poor way thay have been displayed, pixallated and distorted.

I think the photos need some work as they are pixelated, perhaps look at lightbox or something similar to enhance your friends photos.

You have to optimise the photos a lot better. I have also done a wedding photographer website and the main tip that I can give you is keep it simple and let the photos do the work. You can view what I have done at http://www.capturedmomentsphotography.org.uk.

 

I have used Flash for the home page slideshow and a jQuery for the gallery. The photos have been optimised in Photoshop using the "save for web & devices. Another tip is to keep the ratio of the photo when resizing or you end up with squashed looking photos and I don't think that the photographer will be too happy about that.
