I can't really help you with Drupal as I have never used it but I will gladly share my experiences with Joomla and WP.

 

WordPress as well as Joomla allows you to create clean urls with the permalinks.

WP also generates canonical references. I not sure if newer versions of Joomla does this but the older versions did not.

On the other hand: Unlike Joomla I've noticed that the standard WP themes does not allow you to specify unique meta descriptions even though categories have a description-field.

For categories you can fix it by adding this to you header.php:

The only way I have been able to add meta descriptions to "static" WP pages is to hardcode an array of strings into the header and echo them out for the given page id's. I can't seem to find a way to store a description with a page from the admin panel (Come to think of it it might be possible with custom fields).

There are plugins that you can install that will allow you to add meta descriptions among other SEO enhancements directly from the admin panel. The most popular is probably the Yoast plugin.

I wouldn't quit agree because of the lack of meta descriptions. Out of the box (with no plugins or workarounds) I wouldn't say wordpress is the most SEO friendly framework.

WordPress is ok, but having been introduced to Craft that is superior in almost every way. Joomla - it's a big mess, I don't see any reason why you'd wanna do a new build in it unless it's the only CMS you know. Drupal I've heard good things about.

CMS aside, these plugins won't make much difference if you use a theme that loads a bunch of blocking CSS & JS onto the page. Be extremely cautious of the plugins you use, and outcome from using them.

 

Wordpress is terrible for this. I've seen basic themes that load in 40+ files. Yoast can't do much in this regard, other than add in meta and build sitemaps. Performance still remains a critical part of SEO, and preventing bounce rates. Every second counts.

Totally WordPress. Its easy interface and usage as well as ability to install various SEO related plugins simplifies the whole SEO process. I am personally using SEO by Yoast and whne writing any post it requires create a description for it, choose the keywords I want to target.

My vote is for wordpress, clean permalinks and many other seo friendly option are available, while in drupal content crawling is the main problem, so I preferred wordpress.

Not true. A poorly configured Wordpress site will have appalling code which my adversely affect your ranking.

You can trust on WordPress if you use the right plugin, right optimization methods and keep the website perform faster. If you choose all what people say are good plugins I am sure you might end up with a mess of it. But wordpress is the best solution for SEO from our experience so far.

For your kind information wordpress is used by 26.4% of the top 10 million websites as of April 2016 acording to wikipedia , which is the most by any other platform. The thing is how to effectively use wordpress is in your hands. Agree with the points of @ MICH

The truth is there's no better plugins developers in all the CMS put together when compared to WordPress. This CMS has the very freedom to express oneself to any length but only limited to your own imaginations.

 

All am saying is this everyday plugins are developed to aid SEO optimization on sites, on that count WordPress rank highest. Yoast plugin, WordPress SEO to the best of my knowledge can help you rank any site but SEO advice is needed if you're to implement their usage.

The use of plugins, makes it easier to check the On-page seo in WordPress. You can create clean permalinks in just two clicks and WordPress handles the .htaccess for the users. The use of SEO yoast also makes it easier to optimize the web applications.

Designing is easier in word press and use of seo plugins can help us to optimize the website. It is just some people does not know how to use the yost plugins properly. and its not like the seo plugins will optimize the website themselves. They can provide us useful data which we can use to improve the website rank.

That's not true. Yoast offers very poor advice. It also runs a lot of server sire processes which on a busy site can really slow things down.

 

People who rely on Yoast and other SEO reporting tools will always struggle against those who do their research properly and optimise their sites based on that research.

 

According to Yoast (when I did some testing) my site scored poorly on just about all pages - despite ranking well for a whole range of keywords.

As SEO expert we will only Consider WordPress as it has the many SEO plugins.
More over Crawling rate of WordPress is more efficient than Drupal.

SEO is not affected by the CMS you choose. The largest thing that improves SEO is writing good content, next up is using correct and valid markup. Your CMS choice has no impact on either of these.

Out the box Wordpress isn't very good for SEO. You need to add functionality to edit the page titles and descriptions and wordpress also adds a ton of markup in the header and a load of styles to the rest of the page. It's easy to strip all this out but it should be there in the first place. Start adding plugins and it can go rapidly downhill.
