June 4, 201511 yr I recently did a redesign of my personal site. Every line is coded by hand (not that i dislike frameworks but for the challenge) Same thing goes for the design. Every pixel is designed by hand (except the fonts of course) I still need too tweak a few fine values for margins, padding and line heights but I'm quite satisfied with the overall result. However there is still a long way before I even get near the quality of the designs I have seen by some of you designers on this forum. So I would very much like to hear what you think I could do to improve the design. Your comments will be very valuable to me. Link: http://nielsharbo.dk/?lang=en Thank you EDIT: Some of you might notice horizontal srollbars when resizing the pages. This is due to the google ads. The site is 100% responsive but the ads will only macth the window size on pageload. Edited June 4, 201511 yr by Nillervision
June 4, 201511 yr I like it, nice large text you can read, loads very fast, and I love the "cheeky" icon animation on the menu! Couple of things: 1. Link your logo to your home page - good practice 2. Personally I think the borders make it look a bit "square" and blocky, but that's just me
June 4, 201511 yr Author I like it, nice large text you can read, loads very fast, and I love the "cheeky" icon animation on the menu! Couple of things: 1. Link your logo to your home page - good practice 2. Personally I think the borders make it look a bit "square" and blocky, but that's just me Thanks BlueDreamer. I've done a lot to optimize performance: Minified JS/CSS, a sprite sheet for the icons and I've limited the external plugins to a minimum (not even jQuery is used) Good point about the logo. I see what you mean with the borders. Sugestions on how to group the content without borders are welcome
June 4, 201511 yr Author Thanks Robby. Getting positive feedback from someone with your design skills is really nice. Changing the font size might actually solve the issue that BlueDreamer pointed out and eliminate the need for borders as the sidebar content would probably appear "grouped" when displayed with a different font-size Edited June 4, 201511 yr by Nillervision

August 2, 201511 yr Author make ur menu bar fix. Thanks for your response, but what do you mean? The menu does get fixed when the user scrolls down. use some concept of border radius, box shadow, margin padding to make ur website more attractive. I want two avoid border radius because im going for a minimalistic look. Was there any particular elements you think should be rounded?
