Each year I hook up with a few other freelancers (photographers, legal etc) and we have a 'waifs and strays' Christmas bash; beats drinking alone and is a laugh. Voted London to be lazy but i'm easy. Once we got a city I work on a project who is in the hospitality industry; could see if I can negotiate a good place / reserved area depending on budget.

I'm looking forward to the talk from Ling (owner of lingscars.com), it should be interesting considering the room will be full of web designers and developers. A quick look at Wufoo tells me that there's 8 who have signed-up so far and a few duplicate posts from someone called 'catlover'. It would be nice to get it to 10, 15 would be awesome though.

The ideal locations are kinda tied / not easy to work with . For those who enquired about conferences / hackathons, here are the upcoming ones. Personally, I would recommend either webdevconf in October or Handheld in November. There are a few that sound good on that list but look crap on closer inspection. Thoughts?
September 7, 201312 yr Howdy Jack, I'm still very much interested in this. Not to put too much of a personal spin on it, but for me a single all day event would be both more financially viable and enjoyable. Sadly, both the webdevconf and Hackathon events are far too out of reach for me (they seem to be more accessible for members living in the Wales/western area). Somewhere more central would work for me, but that's just me. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, in Spock's words.
November 5, 201312 yr Sorry to bring up an ageing topic, but I thought I should mention that I'm officially going to Handheld in Cardiff on the 27th November. My boss invited me along and paid for the transport, hotels and the ticket itself, pretty sweet. So yeah, if anyone here is going, I might bump into you.
