Hi.

Inline CSS overrides extenal stylesheets so in that sense it's more "effective" but the use of external stylesheets is the way you should go. The reasons are:

1. You can have styling for all your pages in a single file, so you will only have to change one file to alter the design.

2. The external styling is stored in the users cache so once one page is loaded the rest of the pages will load much faster.

3. Your html markup will be a lot cleaner

Both are equally effective, but when you talk about which one is easy to handle than an external style sheet is the best choice. Because if you want to make some changes in an internal style sheet, you have to alter many lines of codes, which take a lot of time, however, in external style-sheet you can easily make a change in single line of code, and it will be applied to every tag of the particular class or id.

I would say use external style sheets would be easier and it would make alot more sense because just incase if you want to alter anything it would be easier

+1 on what everyone else says, always go external. Not only is it easier to modify and whatnot, but it will load the content quicker. If you bunch together everything into one web page file, including all the HTML code, CSS code and any PHP/JavaScript code, it will take much longer. If, however, you stick each language scripting into their own files and link them, your page will get a speed boost.

There are many advantages for using external CSS due to which use it over internal CSS
  1. Full Control of page structure
  2. Reduced file-size
  3. Less load time

Keeping this in mind, external CSS will be a better option.
