Do you enjoying your work?

Featured Replies

I am working as web designer and I am enjoying my work a lot even most of the time I continously worked more than 12 hours and whenever I feel tied just start to listen song while working and again feel refresh.

To answer your topic title - sure :) Very rewarding, dictating the workload (most of the time), listening to music and no office politics - a breath of fresh air. Would be nice to see real people every once in a while though.

When I'm coding, I can spend 12 hours without realising where the time has gone. I suppose the saying 'time flies when you're having fun...' applies here :)

I get tired, but I can work continously without too many breaks and I just find that I want to work right through; sometimes I could work all night because I'm enjoying it so much...sad I know :D

Yes I enjoy my work, like Lyndsey I find the time flies. Once I get home I find it hard to switch off as I'm still thinking about little tweaks I can make.

I'm based in a studio; so plenty of people around to pester me all day :D

Ive recently just got a job in web development, considering my last two jobs were working in a timber factory and working at McDonalds. I really enjoy coding now its my job its even better, its given me more motivation to finish old projects.

Congratulations! :D

No, at work I often feel like opening the window and jumping out.

Generally I enjoy web design, but client work wares me out. I enjoy personal projects the most, they keep me sane.

I wish I was working in web design full time but have a secure job which is not very interesting is better than not having a job at all. But I am at the beginning of a journey but I often think how rewarding it would be to do a job which I love which is my aim in the future when I develop my web design skills to a professional level!

No one can do his work perfectly if he/she does not enjoy his/her work. If you are not enjoying your work, it means that you are doing your work either because of some pressure or due to helplessness, and in both cases, the result is not appreciable. So I always enjoy working.

not always true, my last job i was earning 50% more then i am now, and i absolutly love this job

I agree. For me, it's not about money but enjoyment. I'd rather be earning little and enjoying my job than be earning a fortune without enjoyment. I'll take that any day! :)

I'm a machine; I work 10-15 hour days and I've worked nearly 7 day weeks for the entire year thus far. I've had 2 weekends 'off' where I did nothing but socialise and check email.

And, I genuinely love what I did.

Wow. I like my job but I'm really impressed how you guys can work continously 12 hours and still feel excited about it! Maybe I haven't found my real passion yet ;)

Admittedly it's my business so I guess it's a little different for me as I'm not freelance or employed.

I worked at McDonnalds (2yrs) and a wood factory (3yrs) before i started in web development so everyday im not lugging wood about im happy :p

I work a lot, I spend long hours on the computer every day, probably 12 and more every day. I always go on about how much I want to have a break, but when I do, I miss my work :D

I've found that Web Development / IT Companies are the best to work for; the people around you are usually ace and the fact you can crack out code and collaborate with other developers is something I love about it.

I've worked for 3 companies in Web Development since I was 17, my apprenticeship where I basically worked on my own, all the time and had no one to collab with apart from my boss going 'GET IT DONE', so i did. The University web development team, which was so much better in the fact I had other people to bounce ideas off and the banter's great, likewise with where I'm working now over the summer, it's just a great environment to work in.

I dont do web design per say as my full time job role.

I am learning purely for my own benefit and always trying to come up with that great idea to make me some money on the side.

I do however work in marketing for a large car sales so still get to do graphics and some web things so its all good.

On my breaks i have my macbook and plunder away at new sites im building etc.

Nice mix for me :)

I really enjoy while working. But i can't spend 12 hours continuously working .I need a break after sometime. But I'm really impressed and motivate from teodra,Lyndsey who can work continuously for 12 hrs.
