I love the design and I am very shocked to find that you are struggling to get quality enquiries... I think your content its great, you blog is good too, I like the way you summed up the use of SASS in one short and sweet article... I would definitely go for the "Hire Me" for the button! Colour scheme very effective The large background image on the homepage is very effective! Well done on a great design!

I really appreciate your feedback Fuzzy Logic, and I think that I am definitely improving my logo design skills.... One question do have is a load of ideas and i think the design word in the logo design defines the type of work i do... I am a freelancer who has not even got of the ground and i need to know how i go about becoming a freelancer. I want to skype someone so i can get some video conference with people to get a wide range of experience from a number of areas of specialization.

Hi People I am currently redesigning my logo for my web design work.... I have been working on it for a while, the latest iteration is here: Please can I have some feedback please?

I am designing a new logo for my web design portfolio and i was wondering how i go about creating a paint splash effect in illustrator? can any one advise how to go about this or direct me to any useful resources. Thanks Chris

I say I like the design, and the colour scheme, not sure about the logo, but as far as the layout goes well thats not origional so I could not comment.... A custom theme would be reviewed but not an existing them with some alterations....

I would agree that the first design is better but not great, both designs are out dated with design styles being pretty much the same. I would recommend you concentrate on what needs to be on t he front/home page as there is way too much going on the page and a personal thing is the ticker message is quite out dated, i also feel the scrolling images are something which can become annoying. I would suggest looking into a jQuery carousel / image slider as that is more with the designs and you could high light your key messages. I am not too keen on gradients and also the logo does not fit in with the text and the overall layout. On a positive note the colour scheme is a good combo. but you need to concentrate on typography and creating greater emphasis on the services that are one offer.

I would like to add more depth to the logo but i just do not know what to do to make it something which would be my brand rather than just a typographic logo, I thought of having a gremlin outline as that was where i got the name from but as its a trademark that is out of the question. Could you suggest anything which I should consider doing to improve this logo even further? Any help is much appreciated :-)

I agree with previous posts in that you must learn to hard code, none of IDEs like Dreamweaver will help you to learn web design properly and you take the fun out of it if you don't code it yourself, i would suggest using Sublime Text is a popular editor and would be suitable for all your coding needs. If you want a structure to your learning i would suggest you try the training site Treehouse, they have structured paths which are progressive there is a subscription but if you are serious about going pro then its worth the investment. I learnt HTML first which I regularly refresh my skills when a new standard comes out, the next logical step is to learn CSS the latest versions of HTML and CSS is HTML5 and CSS3. I recommend you learn the latest once you have grasped the fundamentals as you will eventually want to make your websites responsive. The only other advice I give you is to follow blogs and tutorial sites as there are some really good resources out there. Ultimately along your journey you should utilise this forum as it is a fantastic way of keeping up with the latest techniques and your own learning will increase and you will start to become more confident.

I have had a think about what i want the logo to portray and that is friendly and that reflects the service which the client will receive from me. I also done a bit of research into different typefaces / fonts which would help me establish this message. I also added subtle colors which I would be using for the overall design of my portfolio website and have chosen a color which is personal to me as it is my favorite color. I have used a color scheming website for ideas of the colors which would work well together as I feel that getting the color combination right from the offset would enable me to reflect this is the rest of the design. I have come up with a completely different logo design and would appreciate feedback. Sorry if i have missed some of people's feedback but i am sure if i have missed some feedback i will be looking back at this thread to make sure i have taken on board all that has been presented here.

How do i stop the text from pixilating in illustrator when I save for web?
