The fact that you have practical knowledge more than theoretical is your advantage. If you won't know the answer to some tricky theoretical question, try to turn it into something like this " I don't know how exactly it works, but I know how to implement it on my project and did it a few times". Don't be nervous and tell what you know about the topic, it will be alright

It's nice. Simple and easy to use. It's hard to tell what you should improve, because you didn't add any unnecessary and crapy features

I wouldn't call it ripped off, mashable's design is not so unique It's quite good looking and functional. Look at the blue menu on the top while scrolling down. In the beginning it stays back and then suddenly pops out. I don't know if it it intentional but I would make it glued to the top of the page
