I'm currently designing a website navigation for a client at university. I have been told to make some mockups and conduct a survey to see which navigation people like the best.

4 is awesome, nice pixel perfection there, all i would say, is replicate the pixel perfect from the drop down menu, into the main navigation bar, a simple border with a 1px inset rgba box shadow rocks...

 

looks more refined and as if you paid more attention to detail..
