Hey everyone, I'm Dave and I'm a web designer. I've been designing for almost 16 years now and have currently been self-employed for the last 15 months. I've come here to mix with similar-minded people as I don't get much interaction with people sharing the same love of design being a freelancer.

I hope you can all put up with my ramblings :)

From one rambler to another - welcome to site! :) Looking forward to your posts!

Cheers guys!

Welcome from a fellow rambler. Fortunately there's always some patient people to set us straight in the most friendly manner here.

I hope so because I have some nut jobs for clients! I was actually asked to make a design more "fragrant" yesterday, days like that I wish I could play football using their heads.

16 Years, oh my god, can you give your portfolio, because i would love to see your 16 years development in skills.

Surely that's something a web designer/developer can do standing on their head, right? Making a design more fragrant was what I learnt on the second day of unicorn school. That and magic. ;)

16 years, wow! I can't wait to hear some stories, I'm sure you've got a lot to tell :)

Welcome to the forum, Dave!

Same!

Welcome Dave :)

Welcome Dave ... I know the feeling mate, 10 year self-employed and they expect us to be sane? You gotta love clients; "fragrant" is a new one on me ... there was one client who was insistent it was to be coded in 'Apple'; oh and the one who wanted it 'classy' with 'fluttering flags' lol.

Luckily I haven't had that many colourful clients, NoClass. Just the usual "that's great, but instead of having our logo a shark, we now want a tractor" or some other drastic change where the solution would revolve around 'just pressing a button to correct it' ;).

The best one, though no where on par as fragrant or coded in in Apple, was "Love it. Not keen on the wording though. Quite a few spelling mistakes and it doesn't say much about our business". As written by the client. :D

Welcome Dave, 16 years exp. is great. I think u could show us yr Tuts about web or mobile design. That'll be interesting :D

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, you have all reminded me to update my portfolio, once that has been done I'll let everyone know :)

Welcome Dave, wow 16 years in web design!! hope we will learn from you a lot.
