July 8, 201115 yr You need to follow a few steps first. You need to have work to show potential clients. No one and i mean NO ONE is going to hire you on the basis of a diploma. There are a few ways of getting some work under your belt... Contact charities, non-profits and local community groups and offer your services for free. Sit at home and make up website ideas and build them Enter the 'Design Competitions' on this forum Collect this work together and create yourself an amazing portfolio to display it all. This will give some work to show off to potential clients and hopefully you'll start receiving work. Stick to your guns and keep your fingers crossed. It's not easy in this industry.

July 14, 201115 yr Yes i agree miki's post and thats the strategy to get started on initial basis as you need to make people know about your works and your quality than only they will trust you and hire you for works.. and easy way is to give some initial free review copies and than make a portfolio out of it and compile a very nice portfolio.. this way gradually you will be established in this business and start earning.. cheers BHODUARTS

July 14, 201115 yr Who the heck is Miki? Practise until your eyes bleed and then practise some more. Win!
July 15, 201115 yr ironically practice seemed to be the mantra with posting a reply ?! I'm worried though 'miki' was said three times. Does it have a beetlejuice like effect?
July 15, 201115 yr Building websites is essentially a highly skilled technical job, and there really aren't any shortcuts. Most academic course will not be much good, because the lecturers will be teaching out of date techniques. You need to learn by doing and by using Google. To start with, just hire some cheap web hosting and put an index.php in the root directory with "hello world" in it and build from there. Learn to use a content management system like Wordpress. Start by building free websites for anyone you can find then gradually charge more as you build up a portfolio.
