  1. Thank you for approving my thread (I honestly can not imagine why it didn't get approved in the first place as I don't think my thread was /that/ spammy) Mike I actually started considering India design agencies at one point because quite frankly they seem to be cheap as **** yet have plenty of customers to back their experience. While I do see and do realise the risks of (cheap) oursourcing in these ascepts - I hope you understand that this comes with 2 sides of the job, I honestly don't think I should reject some potential client only because I can't deal with more at that momment. I do believe that most of you, web designers, at one point have gotten more than a single request at a time and it's kind of hard for me to imagine that you would turn them down. To go further I, myself, have thought about using freelance tourney sites (elance, 99blaze, logoauctions, fiverr) unless someone has anything else to offer, idea-wise? I have heard a lot of negative feedback about the previously mentioned sites but unfortunately I don't think I could afford any decent outsourcing web-design services right now. I could provide SEO only but I just happen to live at "an area" which isn't virtualized yet. There's not much in terms of SEO for me to provide BUt they do have a whole possiblity for a whole branding+web design+SEO afterwards packet potential. But as said previously, I don't think I qualify for the whole thing. Thank you for your time and replies Regards Chosen
  2. Hey there. I'm not quite sure if this is the appropriate place for discussing/asking it but it got me wondering - do you guys have any suggestions where I could outsource web design services relatively cheaply? Of course the quality doesn't have to be top class here, but the visuals should be good and code readable enough for a second programmer to attempt clean it up and perform some SEO. The reason why I'm asking this is because I recently got an idea how to get local clients, but unfortunately 1) I'm not THAT good of a designer 2) I don't have the time to take multiple requests at a time so I'd much rather focus off-site SEO and outsource most of my design works. Any suggestions where to head to? Keyword here is bolded. Regards Chosen
  3. Thanks I'll check them out! Support isn't important for me, at all. Uptime and price are main factors. /Checked it.. Not what I'm looking for, doesn't really provide possiblity for mass domain hosting. Only 2/4/6(light, standard, pro) domains.
  4. Hello, I'm sorry if this isn't the correct place. Now I'm looking for something that has up to date PHP and MySql support and the main idea is to pay a montly fee for 'unlimited domains'(or a large amount of domains) but pay for domains only. Recommend me something with good money-quality ratio, it doesn't have to be the cheapest but would be nice if it would be cheaper than 'Bluefishhosting' (not directing link to aoid advertising, u can Google it) - Bfh offers 7.95$ montly fee(single year package) + per extra domain cost. Now what I'm asking WDF here is if they know of something better/cheaper? Or is Bfh good to go? I'm confused because there are so many companies that offer hosting.. I see they have a high-paying referal program.. It feels very "fishy" - makes me not want to trust them, if they were any good they wouldn't need to pay affiliates that much, would they? (In past I've used local hosting-provider, they proided great quality, came in my native language and the connection were faster for North Europeans, but the price was kinda too high to start creating "mass sites") Also I'm from North Europe, but I won't care whether the hosting is UK's, USA's or whereevers, but I would be buying .com domains. /Edit: Actually I was digging around this section and u guys don't seem to favor anything u just bash the popular hosts.. but I managed to find someone recommend Site5, so I looked it up. Web hosting/Hostpro packet 10.95$(yearly) with unlimited domains, bandwith(i don't need /too/ much of it), disck space. Seems a solid offer, it sounds good. Anything else someone would recommend? Thank you in advance -Chosen.
  5. I think v4 looks very attractive, much more than the v3. The portfolio come-up is perfect. v3 looks slightly outdated compared to v4, but that's just me. Simplicity working at it's finest.
  6. How about GetSimple? It's a CMS without databases, XML driven. http://www.get-simple.info/
  7. Great post.. I might come off bit ballsy but may we see one of your more 'succesful' looking portfolios?
  8. The footer and top right navi are horrible. Just plain horrible. Also log in box should be in sync with the lower box.. Other than that - Great design! As in you're missing something? Spot on. It's too /LOW/. Stretch the page longer. Add more empty selling content.
  9. This is the CMS I find perfect for myself(targeting small-to-medium businesses) http://get-simple.info/
  10. Coming from my own personal pov: I'm rather crafty in Photoshop but I'm not that into print-design - I rather do web design.. but I'm just god awful with the code-part and would seek for a likewise partnership that would code. Terms of money split could easily be 30/70 40/60 50/50 (to either way) depending on the scale/detail of graphics and amount of lines. There's plenty of people like myself who tend to be decent in Photoshop but hopeless in coding. In fact I think there's more 'PS-only' guys than 'code-only' guys. /PS! If anyone wants partnership like that.. do PM me. I got an idea how to overcome the regional differences (local vs international matters A LOT for SEO)
  11. The site is looking much better now(compared to the v1). My 1366x768(above average widht reso???) sees the background okay. Now if I was to criticise it.. The banner isn't catchy at all. The navi bar seems decent but it just doesn't match with the banner. And the banner catches my eye first.
  12. Welcome Fraser. I usually don't post in this section of the forum as it seems meaningless post counting, but since you put some effort into your intro post, might aswell respond. To notify that you aren't ignored.
  13. http://harpbeats.co.uk/contact.php
  14. Hmm? The only arguments you could possibly witness are the ones from your social circle. By removing the contact you don't wish to hear from you'll have a clean account and only use it for whatever you would like to (I personally 'liked' some web design groups and now listen to local designers and learn more about what's hip around where i'm at) Not to mention the possible free adv.
  15. What do you think Google profits more from? 1) People using FF 2) People using Chrome Thus using FF - Google loses money - thus FF is fighting Google. I don't get what you're trying to say because you're saying the same thing I said in different words.
  16. You could use Firefox instead. That's how you fight Google.
  17. I think it's unique and impressive.
  18. I'm struggling reading the fonts - strains my eyes. Your done work is solid, but the portfolio itself looks distorted(intended, yes, but not attractive) and low quality. That's my opinion.
  19. How about http://www.concrete5.org/ ?
  20. "Pro Web Design" doesn't come off 'pro' at all but I kinda like the site(fits real well with the name), except for the logo.
