February 9, 201115 yr Hi all I am going to be creating a site where you can request favors for online promotion. So for example you could log on and request a favor for people to like your facebook page, or request people to tweet your website, view your youtube video, post on your forum etc etc the possibilities are pretty munch endless. Requests could be as simple as just a request or more likely and exchange i.e "like my facebook page and i will like yours" or "help me get more views on my youtube video and i will return the favor" What I would like is some help with possible site names and also an indication of whether you would use such a service. Thanks all
February 10, 201115 yr Not sure if I would use it personally but I can see why there might be a market for it. The company could be called 'Social Hookup' which implies that it's a place to exchange hookups. It could also be - The Grand Exchange - The Social Exchange - Social Swap - Do you like me? - I like you - Share and Care - Web Exchange - Like My Web - Link Building to name a few. Ultimately it really depends on how you want your company to be perceived, Cool, Corp, Creative etc you need to choose before the name gets nailed. Edited February 10, 201115 yr by Warren Jerzyszek

February 10, 201115 yr Author Yes I am thinking maybe it working in a similar way to an answers site where users would post there favor request and other users would reply to this favor stating they have done the favor and request something in return. User would earn points for posting and answering favors. May also offer prizes for users who earn x amount of points or extra advertising on the site for x amount of points.
February 10, 201115 yr Author I have thought of these couple but not sure My web favors or just web favors Promo favors Socialswapz Promo exchange Edited February 10, 201115 yr by cyberpedz
February 10, 201115 yr Author Going on current trends... wbfvrrrs.com (please don't!). Defo wont be doing that dont see the point
February 10, 201115 yr Author So i am thinking so far SocialSwapz would be good what do you guys think?
February 10, 201115 yr Haha It's cool man. In my mind the use of the Z makes it look a tad cheap and childish.
February 10, 201115 yr Author Hmm really, will have to think about that then what are your thoughts on the name in general though.
February 14, 201115 yr So i am thinking so far SocialSwapz would be good what do you guys think? Yeah its cool - fits it perfectly... develop a logo for it! Good idea by me :} I wont take any credit for it... maybe just go crazy on that + button next to my thread Edited February 14, 201115 yr by Warren Jerzyszek
February 15, 201115 yr socialswap.co ? Sounds better than socialswapz imo Gotta plus one this post. Think it looks much better without the Z
February 15, 201115 yr havin the z instead of an s is pointless. it means everytime you say it to someone you will have to say "Socialswapz, but its with a Z at the end instead of an S" your just causing problems for yourself cos people will also sit down infront of the computer and say to themself "oh, i'll go on that socialswaps site now.....oh how come its not working. must be gone. oh well. off to facebook for me..."

Couldn't agree more, have a domain that's easy to spell if you plan on spreading the site via word of mouth. Also I honestly think the Z looks cheap, it's on half the kebab shops around Stoke!
February 15, 201115 yr Couldn't agree more, have a domain that's easy to spell if you plan on spreading the site via word of mouth. Also I honestly think the Z looks cheap, it's on half the kebab shops around Stoke! Zebab? Nah this is exactly the point i was trying to get across in my earlier post. You should never have to spell a domain name out to a potential visitor as you won't be there everytime they want to visit and as soon as you start 'socialswapz' someone will buy 'socialswaps' and nick all your traffic. Not to mention the Z looks cheap and looks like a rip off of 'socialswaps'
February 15, 201115 yr Author Ye see your point now guys. Looking at domains though sadly socialswaps.com has gone already also socialswap.com and .co.uk has gone socialswaps.co.uk is available but i feel .com is better and easier these days.
February 15, 201115 yr The .com reservoir has ran dry and it's near impossible to find any meaningful domain names that accurately reflect what your company or website is about, hence why you had to resort to swapping an 's' with a 'z'. This is why .co has gone global. Don't place too much emphasis on whether your site is .com, .net. .co.uk or whatever. Choose a meaningful name that people can easily remember, and create good content, and you'll generate traffic and have a good website
February 15, 201115 yr Yeah i'd agree with above, never make cleaver words which are spelt wrong, you'll find a lot of your traffic ends up at the wrong site. .com is no better than .co.uk Infact if you are based in the uk and want your customers to know you are then .co.uk is better.
